I wonder since there is no ceremonious stage, if AC will raise his hands in the air after the time trial and show how many gt's he has won....I hope he does....We need an updated photo to help people who have a hard time counting his wins.

Alberto doesn't

I think he does, and I certainly do. Getting three official wins in each gt would elevate him to being one of the all time greats. He's not quite there yet, I think...

Do you think he will show the 8 with his fingers at the end of the TT? I hope so !

I think his plan is clear for next years: as long as he doesn't win the Tour, he won't go to the Giro. He has to be in top form to beat Froome and / or Quintana.

Then if he wins the Tour next year, by 2016 he might try Giro - Vuelta.

The only reason why I'd like AC to go at the Giro next year is to beat the crap out of nibali, otherwise he is going to win against weak field once again, that's how things are going.

Then people will be all like " ohh see, nibali always wins by huge margin since 2013, he is the best GT rider, he'd certainly be up there against AC and CF" ...

*Sigh*... hopefully Purito will go challenge him at the Giro...

You don't become one of the all time greats simply because of results. You become one of them because of your performances and his performances during the 2010 Tour and 2011 Giro still stand. So no, he doesn't need to win x more GTs to become one of them. He needs to show he's one of them. And so far he hasn't.

I agree with the first: He will focus on the Tour untill he wins it. However, I don't think he'll go for Giro-Vuelta 2016 if he wins the Tour 2015. He'll almost definitely want to defend his Tour title, so he'll try the Giro-Tour or, more likely, Tour-Vuelta double.

There will be Tour & Vuelta next year. I think Majka deserves Giro for his own, and he will be Tinkoff's second gun for Vuelta. They have Kreuziger(?), Basso, Rogers and Kiserlowski to control the race and Bennati with Bodnar to help Sagan with jersey green once more. :)

Really curious to see how well he can do in Lombardia. Normally i would see he has no chance for the win, but you never know.

Beijing could be nice too with a lot of top riders who wants some extra WT-points at the end of the season.

No chance? yea of course

You become one of the all time greats with the passage of time and history assessing the performances. Don't worry he is one of them, history will speak of Condator for as long as the sport is in existence.

According to rumors , maybe Giro will be "normal" diffcult next year. It seems only last week is hard with Mortirolo ,Plan Corones and Finestre.
Abetone and Madonna di Campiglio are not too hard

Majka is riding the Tour next season. Most likely Giro-Tour with Contador doing Tour- Vuelta.
'Climbs' in Vuelta wouldn't suit him (although weather would, and it doesnt in Giro). Kreuziger will probably be second rider for Vuelta (assuming same schedule as Contador) with Rogers doing same schedule as Majka. No idea what Basso will do. Giro surely

I don't agree. Twenty years from now no one will remember that AC won the 2011 giro. Precisely because AC does not win one day classics (like Merckx and Hinault) he needs to do something GT-wise no one has done before, eg. all three GTs three times each.

Anyway it's academic. I'll settle for just the tour next year...

Well people who watched him win will remember it. Do you think no one will remember Lance winning the Tour?

And I sure as hell know that no one will remember Schleck and Scarponi winning GTs.

Well done Contador. Very deserving win. :)

Eagerly waiting for a large graphic displaying how this is Contador's 8th win by LaFlorecita now. :D
