Now that's an astonishing/puzzling announce from him ... it'll be great to see him go against Nibali but how will he win the Tour after that if he's not in top form?

Giro- Tour double seems really hard because of Froome waiting for him at the Tour, the best way to do it would be to win the Giro without being 100%... and he can do it, then ride himself into his best form for the Tour... easier said than done though.

The Giro could have been easy for Nibali or AC if they were alone. With both of them it will be hard, no matter how many climbs there are.

AC must have an information about the route... if it is true that they are not going to put a really hard Giro for Nibali to try the double Contador is going to try to get profit from it.

I heard this too.

Renewing Petrov the team has close the roster for 2015. About cobbles, hilly classics and puncheur stages the team is clearly better with Sagan. Bodnar is a good engine, Brutt too.

But I'm surprised about GC part. Kiserlovski in, Roche out makes no difference. Basso being 36 years old and given his last 2 years doesn't seem a solid help. Roman case is in court. The improve is up to the youngers riders, Poljanski, Beltran, Hansen etc.

That could be true but I think that He is not going to announce it... could be something like if he does the double he will go for La Vuelta. But the team cant handle it they should have hired more ppl and release some of them.

I guess Alberto wants to avoid another debacle like this year with his crashanything can happen, better to have a GT under the belt already before the TDF. But Giro-Tour will be very very very hard

i think he will beat normally easily vincenzo but in july only with good luck(and bad luck again for chris) he can do the double. after, definitely enough time to prepare la vuelta

holy stuff, now i can't wait to see the routes!

Sad to hear this. I guess he's given up trying to win the pinnacle of stage racing again. I was hoping Nibali wouldn't do the Giro although it would be more understandable as a victory lap kinda thing.

I guess a guaranteed Giro is better than a 30% chance to win the Tour to Contador at this point. Oh well.

Over to the Froome thread to congratulate him on winning the Tour 2015.
