Maybe Andy is a better person than Contador but I'm sure that Contador is a much better cyclist than Andy.

Lol

that is one thing we can all objectively agree on :p:p

Alberto has more "killer instinct" than Andy but he is still a long ways from being the "bad guy".

Andy is just a whiner, which Alberto thankfully isn't.

Catalunya twice (valter 2000 + molina) - Dauphiné twice (emosson + montagny) - Vuelta ( 4 times: Valdélinéares + Convadonga + Farrapona + Ancares ) .

Technically, Contador dropped Froome 8 times this year. So you can safely say he's been getting dropped all year.

You can argue Froome wasn't at his best, Contador was worse than ever in 2013.

Also, Froome did one hell of a show on Ancares and Farrapona to a lesser extent, the 3rd week Vuelta 14' Froome is arguably much better than 3rd week Tour 13' Froome when he was being quite **** with little harmless accelerations (alpe d'huez + semnoz) .

Hard to say, but i think he was at least at the same level if not better. But you also have to say that 2014 Vuelta Froome was very inconsistent.

Contador the king of the active volcanos.

He has done so in the lands of his 2 biggest rivals.

The biggest mountain in Sicily, and the biggest mountain in Africa.

Froome has gotten 1 back by taking the title in Alberto's home - Spain, as he is the King of Teide - the biggest mountain in Spain. (and also a volcano)

Nibali as usual in this three way sits in a distant third, hoping the other 2 crash out:cool::cool:
Lol great :D

Still and forever a crybaby ****..... Never has accepted responsibility for any of his woes..... Good Bye Andy, don't let the door hit you on the way out, don't go away mad, just go away :p

Just GO. :p

Me thinks Andy is jealous and bitter because he was considered the "next big thing", the heir to Alberto's crown and now, 5 years after the fact, Alberto is still shining while Andy has faded into obscurity

If person A can whine more about person B about things that happened years ago then vice versa, it means person A is a better person then person B.

#AndySchleckLogic

Seriously, before that happened they seemed to get along fine and after that Schleck has always had a selfrighteous additude, whilst Contador has always been nice in the media

It's because Schleck is a whiner and Contador a winner :p

but yes it does tell us something about them both. If anything Alberto comes across as the nicer or at least smarter person. Andy just seems butthurt.

I take this as more of paying respect to him post retirement, nothing more nothing less. Get your head out of your .....

A.Schleck never disposed of Contador in the fashion that Froome did to Contador on Ventoux and this year at the Dauphine had Contador at his limit before the crash. Get your facts straight. U can argue Schleck and Contador are equal on climbs but Contador was superior in the TT, but with Froome its advantage Froome in the long TT and in the mountains he is as good as anyone. In Contadors words...

"I think Froome is the strongest rival I have come across in my whole career. Maybe in this tour he is finding it a bit harder, but given the quality he has you always have to have the maximum respect and never count him out."

Steady there fella, take the pain. It may come round again in your man's favour next year. It's hard for you I know and Tank but you just have to accept a three quarters fit Contador out thought out climbed and out TT'd a fully fit Froome in the Vuelta. Put simply, it was a master class from a class Master. Froome can only dream of such bike alchemy.

 there's no need to twist the facts. They were both not in top shape

Sweet lord, just get over it already, Andy.

What 'better person' feels the need to say stuff like that about anyone - even an enemy, let alone a former friend? Someone with more class would have kept a tactful silence. What a complete tool.

It would eat at me too. Contador shouldnt have attacked Schleck's chaingate issue. Sure its over and let it go but standing on that top step on the final day in Paris, riding that final day in yellow on the Champs Elysses, hearin your anthem is a big part of being champ. Im sure that hit him financially as well. The most beautiful win of his career, had big elements of winning(mentioned above) left out. Did they just deliver his Yellow jersey, prize money and the trophy to him at his house? No team around, no fans, the memories of the battles are not as fresh as the final day in Paris ceremonies where the atmosphere is different than A.Schlecks living room.

BUT. Schleck would most likely not have won without chaingate either. Contador got 39s on that stage, he won with 39s. And IIRC Andy was 20s or so behind at the top of Port de Bales, so he lost another 19s on the descent, so he did not lose those full 39s because of chaingate, he also lost time because he is a pathetic descender.

And don't forget that Contador lost 1'20" on the cobbles after Andy attacked when everyone else got stuck behind Frank's crash.

And don't forget the day before the cobbles Andy was 6 minutes behind or so after a crash and Cancellara ordered the peloton to wait.

Andy had run out of luck for that TDF. Tough luck, but it's a hard sport. He did not lose because of chaingate, he lost because he was too much of a chicken to attack on Avoriaz (just like he lost the 2011 TDF because he was a coward in the first few mountain stages)

You can't look at chaingate without looking at the Ardennes stage and the cobbles stage. Things don't always go your way.

To me it looks like you can't get over Andy.
Carefully following his every step even in the retirement.

Quantity of attention and hatred he gets here speaks volumes about his greatness.

There have been many greats in cycling's long history. Andy certainly is not one of them.
