So Porte has beaten Chris Froomes record up the 13.6km Col de la Madone !! Maybe the Giro won't be a foregone conclusion afterall

Yeah, and all Contadors training times was the best he ever had before the Tour 2013......

Understandable. Are there any cyclists being paid more than Contador and Sagan? Tinkov can rightly expect more than coming second in every sprint or being pulverised by Froome and Quintana

I knew it's coming. Compare to Sky, TS has been scoring less wins than Sky. For a team that has been drumming about being the best in the world, the results so far are pretty poor (compare to Sky). I knew it's just a matter of time that Oleg will mouth off again. Well sure enough. Majka was poor in PN. Contador mysteriously missing his form that he showed at Ruta. Sagan kept getting second place. Their situation reminded of Astana last year, when everyone was getting scolded email from Vino. Puff, Milan SanRemo is going to be a huge pressure for Sagan to deliver. I think Oleg should keep his mouth shut instead of mouthing about how Contador's rival is afraid of him. Well, so far Froome and Quintana have kicked his butt. Sometimes it's easy when you don't create a big fuss about your team and let the results do the talking. *I'm fully aware Contador is doing double. I'm criticizing Oleg for his big mouth now that the results are poor compare to Sky*

There can never be 0 chance he wins 0 GTs or 3GTs. There's always a slight chance. For example he could crash in the Giro and break his femur and be out for the season. 0 GTs won. He could also win Giro-Tour then go to the Vuelta where all his rivals either crash out or lose time because of crashes etc. He is the only contender left --> 3 GTs :D

I like this odd. 3 GT :D

What do you mean he got his butt kicked? He simply got beaten by two riders who have slightly better form than he does at the moment. Neither of which, however, are attempting the double so let us not exaggerate their feats. I think Contador may very well reestablish the heirarchy at Catalunya. I cannot see Quintana or Froome getting any better, because if they do then they won't have any margin for gain leading up to the Tour. Alberto, on the other hand, clearly has a comfortable margin for improvement, which he will certainly need to contest his two major season goals. We shall see.

Dear Chris,

I saw that you tweeted photo in a mesh skinsuit, and the overwhelming reaction was that people laughed at your body. That's very sad. Perhaps you should drink more coffee, amigo.

Sincerely,
Alberto

Thanks a lot for the mental image of Froome in a mesh skin suit.

I don't expect anything from catalunya, no miracles will happen, and it shouldn't cause giro way off. Besides not good parcours for him.

Go here and you can get more than a mental image - plus the bonus shot of the horrible sunburn the unfortunate insect received whilst wearing his suit

:D

brrr... I did not need to see that again  (but I still clicked the link :p )
Berto looks 10000x better in a black mesh skinsuit (even though his legs look even more abnormally long than usual  ) and thankfully Sportful's mesh jerseys block UV rays

Thank you, but no thank you.

On to a happier topic, I think fourth is a reasonable expectation for AC in Catalunya. It's not like there's a lot in the route to filter out.

I am not surprised :p

As far as Catalunya, much depends on whether Froome pulls out again at the last minute, whether Oleg makes Berto think he's racing to save Bjarne/de Jongh's jobs, etc, etc. This guy is doomed to never have a happy and calm year on a team.

With Froome recently being sick I think AC will beat him. Either way the top 10 in GC will probably all be very close to each other.

Still slightly pervy, tbh. But, ack, long legs, short body…perfectly designed to ride a bike.
(On a side note - nice hands. (Sorry chaps ;) ))

If Froome's had the chest infection that's going around, I shouldn't be surprised if he pulled out at the last minute. I'm hardly ever ill, have scarcely ever taken time off work, and I've been as sick as a dog. As for Oleg, it all feels a lot like PR bluster. Given how happy he was to resign Bertie, I shouldn't imagine he's really that bothered. Sagan more likely to be feeling the heat.

I can't imagine that anyone on TS takes Oleg's petulant little spats that seriously. I imagine Riis just gives an infuriatingly enigmatic smile (or frown…who can tell the difference?) and moves right along.

Ahhh this is like 2013 again when he was sick as well. TS brought a strong team with majka, rogers, kiserlovski, basso. Pitty if he can't challenge Froome. Purito already out of Catalunya. Looks like Sky brought their A team with flying porte on the roster. Oleg does know how to break the team chemistry. I'm sure everyone is under pressure now to perform (and also annoyed). Sagan at MSR, Contador, Majka Catalunya.

Am I right or there was no voice from Contador after touring through the Apennines?
Now I hear he's complaining on some cold... Not the March he's been hoping for, I'm sure.

Agree, i expect nothing of nothing :(
The only MTF in la Molina will not make differences :6km 5.8%...o_O It's so kind of joke?!
Froome 'll surely attacks ( remember Col du Beal last year) but this climb is too simple.
