Instead of being enthusiastic about Contador's double, and root for it in order to demystify Wiggo and Sky, fans are coming up with justifications and falsification of reality.
That kind of attitude I can understand only like fear.
Fans know very well how their idol is feeling.

Whaa, you do know he's won the Giro, officially too? Why should he waste his energy on that, when it's the 100th Tour, with a route pretty much made for him?
Also, he never said he was riding the Giro / Tour double, this year. Even my basic google skills managed that.

Finally a worthy adversary for Contador. This duel will leave a mark in the Tour's history-don't doubt it a bit, because those two are destined to battle the GT titles against one another for next 3 years.

True. We will see Wiggins at the Tour though so we will see the battle, albeit with a giro in wiggins' legs.

I'm disappointed.
I was really hoping to hear different decision.
This way neither TA will have the same significance, nor the other meeting points of the two.

I'm not interested in faggish dodging and tacit split of GTs between the two. I want to see most prominent riders of the present riding against each other, proving their greatness, every time they can. That's sports heroism... Greats of the past have done that way.

As a long-time cycling fan I'll fell cheated if they don't collide during their prime. Doping is quite sufficient fraud already.

Wiggins should validate his Tour title against, alleged, best GT rider of current generation, and the "best GT rider..." should measure himself against reigning Tour champion. Especially if they are already mentioning the possibility.
If you have dilemma who should have done the first move and confront the other - whoever. "If the mountain won't come to Muhammad..." That's the way to do it.

The reason I make posts that lack ALL sense, such as "Contador's biggest rival is Froome, not Wiggins, and so accusing Contador of dodging Wiggins is silly", is because I am also related to Bjarne Riis (he's my son).
