where is this news about Contador whining coming from?

I think there must be some means to ban Froome-boys from posting in this thread.

Just put them on ignore. Most have stopped quoting them, so I only see very little of what they say. Yes it can be hard to follow a conversation sometimes but it's worth it LOL!

In the English media it seemed to have been initiated by the announcers on NBC Sports. I didn't get to watch the action until this morning due to work but upon watching the replay of the crash and then the point where Froome, Porte and Contador caught up with the rest of their group I noticed a couple of things:

1. Quintana was in near the front of the group before Contador, Froome and Porte caught back on. He appeared to have moved to the rear of the group and seemed to be having a conversation with Contador responding with the thumbs up which could be interpreted as a response to a question from Quintana of "Are you alright?"

2. The announcers for whatever reason spun it as Contador's thumbs up gesture as sarcasm over Quintana's group not waiting, and didn't hesitate to voice their lack of sympathy for Contador's crashing and almost taking out Froome in the process.

i sometimes feel that the tv commentators are irresponsible. Even CN goes to some stupid conclusions at times.

I usually don't put people on ignore. we live in a democratic world, but....

Contador wasn't tweeting about it hours after the race finished like a teenage girl as another rider we know did.
He just gave that thumbs up in the heat of the moment and then you've seen what he said in the interview..

At this point Contador was annoyed...

Darn I would like to see/hear what he said myself. If he was upset that they didn't wait then he is incorrect IMO. Heck even Roman didn't wait LOL! But those quotes don't seem to indicate being upset at least not to me. So it must be the Way it was said if people think it is whining.

It can be seen here but may well be geo-restricted (about 39mins in), but this is all it shows:

Yes the media often makes things appear worse just for the heck of it I think!

LOL you want to ban them from the thread but don't want to put in ignore???

Rain supposed to come in :(

Hope Berto's knee/elbow is okay. US tv said he thinks the elbow will be more of an issue and the knee is 'as good as could be expected'.

Thanks!!! So he was annoyed, moved past it quickly and that is that. No whining later, just heat of the moment and moved on from it.

Can't you get over that the sun does not always shine out of Contador's rear, he descended recklessly and crashed and then moaned that they did not wait for him with a problem entirely of his own making, a racing incident yes, one that they should wait for no.

dude.. read what he said. He said it was an asphalt melt, he lost his balance. He didn't descent recklessly. That's 2 different thing. This whole reckless thing is because that idiot froome can't stop whining like a little girl. So tired with his chip in his shoulder. Contador can crash himself for all he cares. Froome should just wait a mile away behind him. I hope froome crash for sure...not a bad one, just enough to knock his confidence *i know it's a bad thing to wish sorry. in the heat of moment :D*.. to stop his whinning. Just race on mate. Stop whinning.

Hoping a rider crashes will get you a ban, so reconsider!

Oh well he wasn't wrong yesterday when he said Tomorrow More. Hope he says it again today.

Good news is he is finding form :)
