Yep big time....he will not make the podium unless he has fantastic recovery over night. Really gutted it out today on sheer will and class.

He´s not at the level he used to be, but still he can deliver a good race.
I hope they during the winter will sit down and evaluate this entire season of Berto´s and hopefully can figure out what is wrong.

He´ll be back!

I think it's just Alberto who's not strong enough.

I made the post before Contador cracked.

Saxo made promises of attacks. They better live up to it tomorrow.

He should retire. He's not able to be a guy who fights for the podium or for a top 5, and so he screws also team tactics.

He should retire. Together with the great, immense tactician Riis.

Pretty bad today, he needs to do something big tomorrow. Some kind of risk it all move. If he keeps climbing like he was today he'll lose 2nd to Nairo, or even slip off the podium.

Rodriguez and Quintana are proving stronger in the third week. Contador looks very tired as do the Dutch and Kreuziger. Saxo have three riders in the top 10 but can't seem to make any impact on Froome and Quintana.

Tomorrow I think they will do the same tactic, and its much better suited, maybe they choose to send out a couple of guys on Galandon and Kreuziger on Madeleine..

They could have chosen to ride conservatively today, and keep their gc positions without a problem, and just maybe, it´s what they choose to do tomorrow. But I doubt it :D

Foolish move IMO. They should try to preserve Berto's podium. If they do to much they will lose it all. The man is riding on pure guts and class, he will only fail :(

Contador doesn't care about podiums. He will probably look for stage wins, even if the come at the expense of 2nd place. Or try to do a Landis to win the Tour.

With this form, Landis' raid will end up with abandone.

Seeing Bertie's dance on his bike when approaching the finish gave confidence that he's getting better by days. Too bad they didn't succeed today but more to come, for sure.

Today was a total failure. It started well, turned into a farce and ended as a disaster. I don´t think I ever seen such a bad tactical layout from Riis.
It was obvious the great master plan didn´t have the fuel it needed.

Bad judgement Riis.

No plan can work when Alberto is this weak.

they might regroup and decided to try to overhaul kreuziger to third spot. But that's a tall order. Quintana was at easy climbing alp d'huez for the second time. Froome is low on sugar he said, so that's why he keeps eating before the climb (ventoux he got fed by his team car). Not sure if it's a sign of him fading either. But contador wasn't that bad, maybe the little attack on the descent kinda sap their energy or maybe he knows he needs to get ahead start on the climb. He is not strong enough though that's for sure.

Good thing, 3 saxo are in top 10. They might want to win that battle against radioshack. Not sure what saxo strategy tomorrow.

Reports on SBS tv in Australia that his bikes have been seized by the commissaires after the stage to be weighed.

Thoughts that he was using underweight bikes at different points and if that's the case, he will be disqualified from the race.

Quintana probably cant wait for another desperate attempt by Contador, podium goes bye bye tomorrow.
