Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Oh, c'mon Neserk. Can't compare the two. It's sooo much easier to win two monuments in a season, especially these days. And get back to me when they finish Worlds at the top of a big climb. Have they ever done that, btw? I always think they should change it up and do that once every 5 years or so.

Yeah like they used that hard pave sector in Madrid...

It was Valverde in 2nd place FFS, not exactly the easiest race to win for Boonen.

I certainly rank RVV-PR-WC > Giro-Vuelta.

Cmon Valverde is not even a thread when racing for the win:D
And I will just say this, cuz we dont want to discuss Tomekke in AC thread dont we:p
Competition: stage races >>> classics

That's true. Froome will be better than now. But the great things is contador will be better than now too. The only dilemma is still ITT. If Contador looses minutes, it would be hard to gain time in the mountain. Until his crash, Contador and Froome kinda match in the mountain, IMHO. However not to be discounted is the mental edge. Today, Froome is crumbling when things doesn't go as his plan, while contador, even though he forgot to latch on nibali's train, shows his great form to launch a long chase. So I think the tactic and with the support of a strong team will compensate his ITT weakness.

You do realise that when a rider is physically incapable of going any faster that it doesn't matter how strong mentally they are, don't you? There are lots of riders in the peloton with a very strong mentality who hardly ever win a race. Do you know why? It's because they aren't very good!

Sick to death of reading all this meaningless guff about tactics and mental games.

Fans tend to go to extremes, I understand. Now, I think Froome is not done yet. Maybe it's true what he said that he was blocked today because of the injury. Maybe he has some other problems. Maybe that damn plus kilo is dragging him down. But he showed this year that when he's fit and when the sky boys don't face unpredictable race situations, he is still the strongest. The battle is still on.

He showed he was stronger than contador one week ago. From then Contador's on better form.

I really want Froome to step up, otherwise le Tour will be a pain in the ***, just like Giro was.

Looking forwar to see the skyborgs being destroyed by the spanish army!

Come back to me when Alberto is the best of all time in his discipline and has won two monuments/GTs and worlds in the same season.

You are absoloutely hilarious. Lol give me a Vuelta over Roubaix anyday. Terpstra is far better than Purito afterall he won PR:rolleyes:. Also their is an argument Boonen is not even best in his discipline. Just because he as a monument extra does not mean he is better.

And now Oleg rather spending his money buying Sagan, instead of buying a good domestique and pay them handsomely. 1 sagan = 4 domestiques like kiryenka/nieve/henao. That's money well spent.

That's not correct.
Riis and Tinkov have told that they want 3-4 domestiques for the GT's and classics riders for 2015.

So Sagan (maybe) and some riders who can help in the mountains.

There's a rumor about Basso going to Tinkoff next year as a domestique. Not bad at all. Maybe Evans goes the same way :p
