it will be a lottery I guess. Everyone got quite a big chance to **** it up majorly. What speask to ACs favour is experienced riders like Tosatto, Bennati and Rogers, for Nibali it is bik handling skills + Iglinsky etc etc.
Everyone can end up with a 3++ min deficit after tomorrow

I honestly think a GC guy will lose a load of time tomorrow, I just hope one of them isn't Contador or Froome.

I am very confident. AC has looked absolutely great so far. I really liked the way he took control the other day on Jenkin Road. You'd expect Froome to do so, but he mostly just followed. I know, it's not much, but those small things also tell a lot, I believe.

As for tomorrow, I am not worried. Nibali might be stronger on the cobbles, I don't know, but AC should be superior come the mountains.

Agree..

The whole Tinkov ownership seems to be a tactical advantage for the team as Riis can focus on the race rather than raising funds..
-The bottle nets
-The bikes made especially for this stage
-The constant presence of contador in front of peleton on flat stages

If there is one team prepared to the max for this stage it's Tinkoff/Saxo...

I hope it pays off...

Tomorrow is about remaining safe and in touch with what any of the other others GC guys are doing. I believe that today SBT worked hard to make sure Alberto was not only safe but advanced on GC so their team car will be closer in the event of punctures or mechanical. Avoiding crashing and getting tangled in other people crashes remains the challenge the team will face. Alberto will have somebody who can give him his bike at his side. If time is lost to heavy cobble guys. like Cancelara et all , it not only won't matter much but it might provide for added benefit if other teams besides the sprinters team work hard and battle each others in the days before the high mountain.. This could be a glorious day for Saxo and for Alberto

Same could be said about everyone that clips in tomorrow. Everyone. So I wouldn't waste a lot of energy fretting about it (though I know that won't stop you from doing so :p;))

Nibali never raced on the cobbles, at least Froom and AC had first hand experience. Can you believe this, not a long time ago CF was racing PR?:eek:

Contador is more explosive than Froome.

Crash is inevitable, just by pure odds, some GC rider will be in the ditch. Plus the rain on the cobble, it is so easy to lose the control of the front wheel. Remember Menchov crash on the ITT cobble, just this time it will not be ITT.:eek:

I think if you focus on the last ~25 meters of the climb, you can question whether Contador was controlling the pacing on Jenkins Road. If you look at the entire climb, not so much.

Contador did his test as well as Froome did, but it is a surprise than the only one that could put some meters is Froome, less explosive than Valverde and Contador.

Contador more set the pace than take control....

25 meters?, I see 200 m from Froome and 50 m previous of Sagan. But anyway to comand a climb so short and step is not really important. Contador atacked, Froome as well, that is good.

Let's look at that video. I see 40-45 seconds of Alberto on the frpnt and 15-20s of Froome on the front.

PS, "set the pace" = "take control"

yes, going to the front and setting the pace is taking control. Froome had Teejay right on hos wheel when he "attacked".

To be fair, Menchov could crash without the cobblestones as well. I will never forget Prato Nevoso.
