Since he's in the Tour kit, it's obviously since late June, so probably taken after the Tour.

It was taken today.

It's hard to see how 'fat' he is but i think he's at pretty much the same weight as in the tour.

The problem last year was that during the entire season he could never get to his weight, this year he has been working so hard to do it the hard way so i doubt that in his 2 weeks of inactivity and almost 4 weeks of training he got 'fatter'.

Btw my believe and it's been pretty much confirmed by some guy of saxo is that Contador has been training since the day after the tour ended.

He wouldn't ride the vuelta just to get crushed by quintana and froome, he's ready. Then again this is just what i believe based on my knowledge on contador the rider.

@netserk, that's what the guy said who posted it on twitter, i don't see why he would lie besides Contador was in lugano last week.

He looks fit- not as sharp as he was during the Tour, but nonetheless he seems like his rest days didn't add the unwanted weight that sticks for lacking the training...

Looks like people are as obsessed with Albertos weight then the guy himself. Pictures can be very deceiving and when he stands in the foreground as he does he could look huge without actually be it. I mean, is it really possible that he would have gain a little weight after that video a couple days ago in which he looked totally skinny and sharp? I rather doubt so. Also, he is a little unshaved and that could give a little impression of "unfit".

No you needed an ID card in order to collect your timing chip - it's just someone else called alberto contador bizarrely.

I was considering making a terrible comment about it being normal for him to be a little "chubby" with a pair of those staring at him.

Luckily I am a gentleman so I didn't.

Really? That's not a good sign. What kind of injuries did he sustain besides a concussion?

EDIT: As for Contador's weight, he looked pretty darn thin/fit on the video he posted announcing he was riding the Vuelta. I don't think his weight will be an issue.

Hehe. Just makes a difference of around 1 Watt -at 40 km/h.
