Yeah I agree

Dr. Juice said:I don't think Froome was the strongest today. He simply rode smart. Since Valverde attacked, Contador and Purito had to respond to that suicide attack. Then a moment of slow down, Contador attacks etc etc
Froome was the only one with something left in the tank to do an anaerobic finish while the others were pretty much cooked.
Contador is the boss here, the others not that far behind. But especially Froome has not a great form. He will lose tomorrow and on stage 16 after having thought about today and the other stages.
That jojo effect just works on insane %. On consistent, normal climbs ( 7-14%) he ( Froome) hasn't got the power.

Actually I watched Tirreno 2014 yesterday and Bertie managed the steep climb very well there. It was not tactically great of him today. On the other hand I believe his form is not 100% and he always suffers from lack of stamina when he's not 100%

BlurryVII said:Yeah, just like first stage of basque country, dropping top form valverde and powering up the wall on a huge gear.
I don't understand people who say it's not his type of climb, AC can beat anyone no matter how steep the climb is but he is just not in great form, probably around Giro 08', he is being regular and I believe he does not appreciate steep and explosive climbs when he is in this kind of form.

roundabout said:12 and a bit minutes only.
BlurryVII said:For a 12 min effort only.
He did 6.9 - 7 w/kg, 2241 VAM during 6:56 min at Pais vasco stage 1 (alto de gaintza).
I meant he is in a decent form right now but not great.
webbie146 said:7 min vs 12 min. Stage 3 vs end of week 2 in GT.
webbie146 said:Ow only 12 minutes nevermind I can do that kind of performance too
BlurryVII said:In this case, racing miles can only benefit him after an injury come back.
webbie146 said:Racing miles do not benefit the hematocrit
I'm really *****y today lol ^^ I dont arque he's not on top-form atm, clearly he is not, but still these wattages are pretty top of the line.
Dr. Juice said:You don't have to worry about his HCT , it'll be fine and healthy
So racing miles will do benefit to his form.
Red Rick said:I think Contador is used to be able to sustain his attacks better than this. When he is in top shape he can attack like today (maybe even a little harder) and then he gets into a super fast sustainable rhythm immediately.
Maybe the problem is that he doesn't know which speed he can maintain before he actually attacks and burns out.
Contador might actually have been the strongest had he paced himself correctly.
Form usually fluctuates day by day, so far this seems to be happening the least with Purito and Contador. This is important especially when there are 3 mountain stages in a row.
What surpsrises mee is that so far Froome seems to do his best rides on short efforts, while he dissappointed in the tt and on Valedinares (or whatever the hell that thing is called)
