whut? valverde isnt a thread in giro mountains, what part of that you dont understand

And what do the giro mountains have that this man hasn't seen already? I mean... Are they 50% gradient? Nope. Above 2000 meters? He's done that. Alejandro's problem isn't a mountain pass, it's Alberto's shape.

During the winter, Valverde does training sessions up to 3000 meters (Sierra Morena and snow permitting) so, unless you go above that, I'm sure the Giro isn't going to impress him, at least in the ways you people insinuate.

Capisci?

Meaning what? Thar the other grand tours do not have any "real mountains"?

Do you realize how absurd you sound?

The Vuelta consists mostly of short to medium length steep climbs, on the 2 hard stages and long MTF's, Contador destroyed Valverde while not being 100%.

Valverde is never gonna hurt Contador on climbs like Mortirolo and Finestre.

Which absurd to you because?

Or the Angliru, the Cuitu Negru, Bola del Mundo, the Cime de la Bonette, the Alpe D'Huez, the Galibier and many others.

I have root canals (probably) older than you, and a passion for cycling that precedes many of those root canals so... please spare me any superficial inferences on your part.

2015 is the last change for contador to do the double. He'll never have such great routes again.

I'm totally agree.
next year Giro and Tour have routes that suit him a lot and this is his last opportunity 'because he becomes older.

i little scare.about Froome: Giro will have a route that suit him more than Tour , especially with 60 km ITT . So he can think to try double

Mortirolo will take care of Froome if he does the Giro ( possibility 5 % ).
This is a climb for Pantani-type climbers dancing on the pedals.
Assuming both arrive at a similar form.

For some reason, I don't believe that Froome is going to even try to attempt double. He wants to win TDF as many as he can. He missed the chance this year. So he is not going to jeopardize his chances to win TDF for the second time next year. Beside DB has told the press, sky is targetting TDF and PR next year. So we knows that they come out with the two again wiggo and froomey. So Contador will better be prepared for next year ahead of time (no slacken off on winter training and nothing problematic with the kili climbing expedition) because he will be facing fresh froome, fresh quintana, and fresh Nibali.

No way Froome does the Giro next year.

Think again:

Froome's participation in the 2015 Tour de France is not certain, as he explains: "The team and I will have to give it some careful consideration before we make any commitments to which of the grand tours I will compete in. I see myself as quite a balanced GC rider and the Giro with it's inclusion of a long TT of 60km and tough uphill finishes will make it a well balanced race which suits me well. If I did the Giro I may also be able to get myself back to top shape for the Vuelta and go there with a realistic chance of aiming for the win".

It's on.
