LaFlorecita said:huge surprise he did not finish 2nd
he must have been 3rd then
pigoonse said:Have not been keeping up with the story. Happy to read that Sagan and so many made the summit, as it sounds like a long, miserable slog. Never doubted Contador making it though

And forget about the record. Most famous mountaineering climbs have insane climbing records. From memory its below 5 hours for Kilimanjaro. No chance for Contador to break it unless he trains for a few years.

Red Rick said:I guess it's just a super fast time for those kinds of people who aren't experienced mountaineers and just decided to climb Kilimanjaro cause of #yolo. Cause the Kilimanjaro is actually pretty suited for that.

Electress said:Maybe not. But I'm all for the heroic try tbh.
I guess it all depends on how AC can sustain his form / how much the Giro takes out of him, and whether Froome can attain the kind of levels he was at in 2013 again.
I don't know. I'm not sure he can. Not sure why, exactly, but I have a question mark regarding his mentality, his health and his tactics. I don't think he or Sky are well suited to uncertainty - they like the dominate from the front…out of control and they have shown their weaknesses recently. I also have the feeling - no evidence at all, I confess - that Sky aren't a happy and cohesive team, however individually overmanaged they are.
This TdF hasn't the route which allows anyone of the favourites to open a massive advantage - cobbles / weather conditions in the first week might do that more than playing to any particular strength. i actually think it might end up pretty tactical, on the road stuff. I hope so. But that would suit Bertie much more than froome imo.

It was definitely dark when he got to the top
Perhaps he was even too early to see the sun rise (which is what they are always aiming for)![]()
No_Balls said:He left the kids in his own foundation for dead during the exibition ride in Italy so no surprises there.![]()
Carols said:I'm sure he waited for the sun to rise no?
