The look on the blue eyed cow's face kinda says it all…Poor Alberto.

On a happier note - I am so pleased that Sagan has gone to Tinkoff. I think it'll be good for him and I reckon it could be a stellar year next year. Fingers crossed for lots of good things...

Surprised to see the BBC do anything not worshipping at the altar of David Brailsford. Not exactly overwhelming in its insight, though.

Did notice they had a piece of Christian Haettich - I saw the guy this September going up the Tourmalet. Rather moving, actually, the sheer guts of the guy.

I doubt we'll see a repeat of 'chubby' 2013 Contador. But I don't much want Skeletor Contador either - he's got to be fit, not weak. Keeping form and top condition over the season means having some reserves - fat is needed for vitamin absorption and bone protection. He's got to avoid falling ill at the drop of a hat.

This is the first of several parts, Matt Slater interviewed Alberto and Peter, we'll see those interviews too later. Check his twitter account by the way (@mattslaterbbc) loads of interesting stuff from the camp on December 10 and 11

He looks to be in good shape, not too skinny but not chubby either. I think it'll be another good year for him. Reigning champ of all 3 Grand Tours at the end of July:)

Cheers for the tip - and I totally agree about AC. I think he's really focused on this mission and will be in great shape in May. Irrespective, I'm going to try and get to the both the Giro and TdF this year…got to support someone willing to set himself an 'impossible' challenge in full view of the rest of the world.

We need to see ribs here

Contador probably had a higher W/kg of lean muscle mass than Froome all through the Tour:D. How you race Alpe d'Huez sub 42 and almost beat Froome in the hilly tt like that is beyond me

Wow. I envy you ;)
I will just visit Utrecht for the prologue and probably at the side of the road the next day.

 i don't remember him having a beer belly...

well, anyways...he looks very good at training camp, plus happy, confident, focused. in fact, the whole team looks stronger than ever, i'd say.

You do realize, people, that being too skinny in the winter is a very bad training strategy? If I were his coach, I would much prefer to see him to gain a couple of kilos in December and January.

He is surely 4-5 kilos above Tour weight. He is not chubby but not super skinny either.

Wouldn't say 4-5 kilos (that is quite a lot, he said at the 2014 TDF he was 2 kgs lighter than the year before) but yes, you're right, he's definitely not at his Tour weight yet.

Do not worry, ItalianJoe :)

2 kg lighter at the Tour 2014 compared to the Tour 2013. I am sure he had more weight last winter than both in summer 2013 and summer 2014. You need at least 3-4 kilos in the winter. Anything between 3-6 kilos more in the winter compared to your main goal in the summer...should be okay.
To hold your weight all the year is not the aim.

Now after Christmas it's time to accumulate km's and to lose a couple of kilos.

I know. I was just trying to illustrate that 4-5kgs is a lot. Look at the difference between Contador at the 2013 TDF, and the 2014 edition. It's mind-blowing. And only 2 kg.

I think he is at 64kg now. Tour weight 61-62kg. I don't believe he is 67kg right now. No way. I'd say he is less chubby than at the 2013 TDF.

I dunno. Seems quite easy to do for a long weekend.

But I've not been to the Giro before, although I've cycled a lot in Italy. If there's any intelligence anyone can offer on the subject, that'd be good.

64 kilos and 'chubby'. Makes me laugh seeing the heffalumps wandering the UK streets these days.
