I guess you missed the part where i said "contador being extremely lucky astana went full genius."

Unless you're gonna tell me tinkoff knew astana was gonna do that to that extent? Then you're a genius.

And uran was never a threat imo anyways.

As much as any other. You could say that Aru is the second strongest, but Alberto will be ahead of him after the itt and will thus have the luxury of not having to drop him. Weaker as Uran may be, if he was going to have 1-2 minutes after the itt on Contador, he (AC) would be forced to make a play. Now he is a minute ahead of Uran and could very well be equal or close after the itt, so he doesn't have to force things.

Seems to me TS should try to get Aru in pink…burn off some of that train before week 3, and less troublesome in the ITT than Porte. Unless something has changed in Aru there too. They need to get Sky and Astana to focus on one another a bit more…feels like TS is in the gunsights of both.

He trained on his time trial bike a lot. Don't be surprised if he is a TT specialist now.

I think he won't. But people say he might as well take it to establish hierarchy in the race. If estaban can hang on, he could keep the jersey. On the flip side, having Orica keeping the jersey sucks so far, because they can't control the breakaway with so many climbs. I would prefer some other team with climbers, so they will most likely to work upfront to make sure climber breakaway will be caught.

The Big 3 look to be closely matched in the mountains. I thought Aru would be the strongest but seeing how he seemed to have some trouble closing down the attack from Contador, whereas Richie didn't even really breathe hard just leisurely riding up to Bert, I give the edge to the Devil for now.
