He didn't put the jersey on cause he had ice on his shoulder, that's good news at least.

But Contador's face says it all, i'm sure he knows what's up.

The team's press officer was just interviewed on Danish TV. According to him Contador couldn't put on the jersey because he had ice on his shoulder. He hurt his shoulder, knee and hands, and they don't know right now if it's seriuos.

When was the last Tour Veulta btw?

Never done before with the current calender, dunno about the times that the Vuelta early in the year

it would have to be harder IMO

The Giro Tour double you can do like contador build the peak but TOUR / Veulta you have to peak for the Tour as its the toughest competition and somehow hold on in the Veulta

I hope Contador is ok, this will be mentally hard for him.

Again...but he's toughest guy in the peloton.

If it's not broken, he'll ride for sure.

Hinault was the last to do it with the old calendar. It could be very possible, but neither Indurain nor Lance ever attempted it. Since 2005, we've had 2 Sky riders win who concentrated fully on the Tour, a bunch of guys who ended up with the OOC "pressure" due to their sample. and Contador. Sastre's the only one I remember who has tried (possibly Evans?).

Tomorrow is the longest stage of the race and the next day, first real mountain finish.

Wow. Some awesome camera work there. This is great!

Crash would have happened with or without camera there.
Anyway, he was going really slow at this point. Highly doubt its anything serious. If you hit an elbow it hurts as hell at the beginning but 2-3 hours and you are fine. He won't miss a beat tommorow, there is no chance imho that it will affect his performance at the Giro

Contador will undergo further medical examinations this evening. "We’re still having a look at it, of course we’re still having some ex-rays and analysis on it to see exactly what the problem is," Tinkoff Saxo's Stefano Feltrin told the press at the finish.

Contador's personal press officer Jacinto Vidarte added: "Alberto is almost good, he had a very heavy fall towards the end. He’s hurt himself on the knee and he’s got a bad shoulder as you can see but I think he should be ok. Alright he’s hurt his knee but I think that he should be ok to continue."

"Of course he’s only just fallen, we’ve got to do all the medical exams in the next few hope that he’s ok."

If he can get past the MTF at saturday without any big time loss, he'll have a whole week to recover before the ITT.

Of course if he hasn't broke anything.

me too. I hope it's not major. He just healed his minor fractured spine right before the giro. Gosh, this guy just can't have any luck. The harder he tried, the harder the luck for him.
