Tbh, long range crazy attack winning it would be way better at signifying his awesomeness.

my favorite GT of him was tour 2011, the most boring one tour 2009
This is so true! :) :) :)
The attack on the telegraphe was one of my best sports experience!

Personally it feels like banking on the ITT is too much of a lottery. There are loads of guys in the top 10 who could do well and Contador's own TTing has been inconsistent. I think at the very least he should try and get a gap (or bigger gap) to guys like Pinot and Keldermann today, even if Henao and Quintana will probably be able to follow him. The thing is that the final climb ends with 3k of shallow incline or descent and if today is anything to go by then Henao, Contador and Quintana won't work together on that section and the effort will end up being wasted.

Contador has been a beast this year, he's prob at 2014 level. Besides he's gonna win PV and the tour according to my theory.

In 2014 Contador's placements were 2-1-2-1-2-1.

This year it's 3-2-2...So 1 time 3rd, 2 times 2nd, thus now 3 times 1st. He has still 3 confirmed races to be placed at. PV, Dauphine and le tour.

What do you think fleur? :)

He's really good. And the guy has been peaking for a month. Even in his godlike 2009 year he wasn't that good anymore in the basque, relatively speaking of course

So , we can be satisfied today, or not?:D

He will smoke everyone tomorrow, he seems very strong UNLESS it rains then it becomes more about who is willing to take most risk downhill.

Nice performance today. From the looks of it, he was never really in trouble. I'm fearing Pinot will take the overall, though...

Surprised that nobody yet have said "He couldn't beat Henao, so how will be beat Froome" :D

I missed that attack moment, but other than that he looked great. Riding out of the saddle all the time, but close to his limit. But I think both Contador and Henao realised that working together was the best thing to do.

But, I hate the fact that all the SKY dom's can peak for these races and battle against Contador. Just show how strong that team is. Kreuziger who should be the 3rd strongest mountain guy at Tinkoff was nowhere near the front today again, and he's going for the ardenners soon.....

I agree:D

Maybe i'm wrong again , but it's just enough a good win in a ITT ( with a poor field) to put Pinot above Contador in a hard hilly ITT.
Hilly ITT where Alberto is one or maybe the best of the world.

BTW I think Contador really likes the rain. Today he reminded me of Geradmer stage in 2014 Tour. Even after he attacked he looked super easy, composed and I was never worried he would get dropped. This is the gradient where you really see who the best climbers are. Not those crazy 25% slopes, or 4% "mountains" like the one in P-N. It was really cool to see and it certainly gets my hopes up for the Tour. The only thing that I noticed though is, that he usually starts the race a bit slower and than builds on the form (probably beacause he is having more rest in the weeks between the races). I am mentioning that, because the TT in the Dauphine will be on his first day of racing after a month and a half, so I have to convince myself that I won't get all gloomy if he gets beaten there by Froome...

Anyway, hoping for a great TT tomorow and that he finally gets his win (or should I rather say two wins). Fingers crossed!

I don't know what to expect, it's possible Alberto will smoke this TT if he is in great shape, but I really am not sure. It will definitely tell us more about his form

Well I thought he looked pretty good, exploded the group at will and only Henao could go with him :). I just hope he hasn't left it all to late because one hiccup in the TT tomorrow is all it will take not to win this race. But his form seems to be Good and he usually does very well in TTs when he is on good form.

I believe it's 50/50 between Pinot and Alberto tomorrow. I hope Alberto takes it, it would be an important mental boost. Henao isn't the best TTer but maybe he will get his 'revenge'?

Vamos Contador.

Heroic Contador today :)
Shame about the resting between those races, if not for that, he'd be on the rhythm from day one.

But improving day by day, thank you winter base :p
