Re: Re:
So his chances for a medal really depend on the size of the group sprinting for the win and if he can be in that group at all.
I agree with you that he isn't one of the favorites for a medal in the ITT, but if he can bring his good shape to the race, and some others disappoint/underperform, it's definitely possible. I really don't rate his chances for a medal in the road race.
Of course, all of the above is based on the assumption that he will get selected for both
I don't know, man, although I'd love to see him take a medal in the RR, his practically nonexistent sprint skills hurt him quite a bit. Let's say a small group sprints for the win, that group would have to be max 5 riders for him to have a decent chance at a medal (ideally 3 or fewer riders ). Occasionally he can deliver a decent sprint which means there is some potential, but I really wouldn't bet money on him beating anyone besides possibly Pozzovivo.PremierAndrew said:If the RR is hard enough, and he decides to ride for himself instead of Bala, he's got a decent shot at a medal, especially as the Olympics aren't a particularly controlled race with 5 riders per team, so tactics play a huge part. Would be very hard in the ITT where the strongest is pretty much guaranteed to win
