OMG didn't you know Contador's points won't count for the next two year!!!!!
VeloCity said:
Well you know Contador's going to be in prime shape and extremely motivated for the Vuelta. He can't do it all himself of course, but a couple of stage wins and the overall would be a good start for gaining back points for Saxo.

I don't care about points or in which team Alberto is running. I just can't wait to see him unleashed again and slaughtering everyone as soon as there's a climb.

Probably, the last opportunity for both Wiggings and Evans to win a TDF. Next year, with Contador, it'll be too late :D

A new rule. Part of every doping sanction. But;
1 It is against the WADA "no extra punishment" rule
2 It was introduced after Alberto tested +

The rule is already in force for valverde - the UCI will argue it's not for individual or team rankings - just for world tour rankings and licenses ( still not right though)

I think its due to the UCI initially instituting a 4 year ban and then dropping it to 2 years. This additional 2 year no points penalty is IMO their way of making up for their reducing the original ban.

that is why there are all those rumors, merge with GAS, swap with Andy, because there is slight chance Saxo lose world tour rank Contador will not even be able to race the tour. But I don't think that is going to happen, either rule will be overruled or Saxo has to come up some scheme to cope with this.:D

Even if the worst will happen, Saxo will be invited to the Tour as long as they have Contador.

Opinions differ on that matter. For example I'm not so sure they would be invited.

Contador vs. Schleck = money. :)

Not to mention who ever won it would be with an *.

*Contador, the best GT rider of his generation was not invited.

Don't underestimate ASO, the Andy Schleck Organisation.

I never fail to underestimate the silly ASO.

Not that it will matter, you and I know that Contador will earn the points needed in the Vuelta and that they will count. ;)

Yesterday was a really good day. :D

Riis: "the Vuelta is more important for us that the Tour this year. We will need to provide Alberto optimal support, and hence some riders who would have been logic for the Tour will be saved for the Vuelta."

He adds that of course the Tour is still extremely important and he has hopes that Chris Anker will compete for the Polka Dot and that they will compete for stages.

I would love if Schleck didnt do Tour and did spectacular battle with Conta at Vuelta. It's never going to happen.

But I guess I can just dream... :p

A couple of years of that in a row would do wonders for the prestige of la vuelta

So now Contador has a team for the next 3 years, who do they buy for support and points to keep the WT license?

Will the current crop of saxo riders be enough support for la vuelta win?

Contador doesn't really need help, only on the flats protecting him from wind and crashes. I assume Navaro and Hernandez are skipping the Tour to ride the Vuelta with AC so they should be good help in the mountains for him anyways.

Riis has said that he will save the best riders for the vuelta team. I think it will probably include N. Sørensen, Tosatto, Paulinho, Navarro, Hernandez and Mørkøv.
