If the argument is "Is the tdf more stressful than the Giro?" then I'd agree with you. But if it is "Is the tdf ridden faster than the Giro?" that's an objective thing. So riders' perception are totally irrelevant.

We can't have absolutely objective criteria, comparing the Tour and the Giro. Average speed might have been such a characteristics only if the races had been held via the same parcours. So I'd prefer take some "irrelevant" thing to make a conclusion.

At last the King is back, just a huge pity that a fit Andy isn't going to be at the Vuelta. Can you imagine the hype with him there and: Froome thrown in as the Joker (read what you want into that. Quality field, can't wait.

I have to think Froome is going to want a win pretty badly too. He lost the Vuelta last year because he had to watch over Wiggins. Having two riders both with a personal vendetta should make for some good racing.

He can "want" all he wants, he have to get passed an even hungrier, burning AC, so that is not gonna happen, not in this Vuelta, and let´s not get too carried away with froomey, he hasen´t won anything yet, assumptions is one thing, reality something entirely different.

The way AC is riding now, today, (Eneco tour), reminds me of the pre Giro 2011, only this time he looks more fit, more determind and stronger than ever, even his team mates had a hard and busy day just trying to following him in the TTT, and he wasn´t happy about the pace...

He looks almost scary in my opinion, and if I was his opponents watching this, I would be freaking scared, thinking: oh no... not that Alberto!

Indeed, I commented before on how lean and fit Alberto looked, plus that hint of a gleam in the eye, he totally means business, some wag suggested a Vuelta win by 5 mins, given what he has to prove, I'd wager he wouldn't be far off...

It´s not a bad guess, sounds very plausible and realistic to me.
I´m really looking forward to this Saturdays TT as a measurement, I think he will floor it, and I predict he will win it.
He just looks so strong, and maybe at the end, it´s been a good thing for him to have this break, it´s like as you said, he´s on a mission, and very clear about what and how to finish it.

I am sure we'll see the 2011 tour Alberto only not tired and hopefully not injured because of crashes.

I know, but Contador seems to want 3 or 4 of his good friends in the team. He has Noval, Navarro, Paulinho and Jesus currently. Kreuziger doesn't fit that bill.

Unless Contador has managed to race the 2011 Giro in the last 6 weeks, we won't see a 2011 Tour AC in 9 days. The early 2012 Contador had not trained at all before December because of his wedding and his CAS hearing. Neither of which are on the menu.

So you can cross those two possibilities off your list.

We wont get 2011 AC since he hasnt done another GT shortly before to make him fatigued (Fromme has though). Early 2012 AC? U mean an AC in january form? Hardly.

What we might get on the other hand, is an AC who might be a tad rusty in the first 1/3 or 1/2 of the race. Thats is where Froome needs to make his move. In the latter half things will turn in ACs favor (him getting better and Froome more fatigued after having done the Tour too)

Ah finally it makes sense! Thats why Noval is on the team!! To eat all the steaks so Bertie wont become tempted And tbh Noval could use the effect of clen taited meat (i.e weightloss)

I think you´re getting a bit too excited about Froom, he never won a GC yet, and to say he will more likely drop AC than the other way around... based on what? But instead of getting into a useless debate here, let´s just wait and see, and btw, AC just been out of compettion 6 months, not 2 years, it won´t matter much for such a talented rider, and the race speed he already seems to have found. But I can´t wait to see Froomey drop AC. Amazing!
