Miburo said:No it's not an opinion.
Contador his last GT where he could go all out was giro 2011, only 14 months ago. And he dominated that like it was nothing, best Contador untill now.
And that was already after the "steak"-affaire.
So on what do you base yourself that Contador won't be the same anymore as he used to be? he's only 29.
It's obvious you don't like him.
Some of us are fanboys ok, but fact is that Contador hasn't lost a GT since '07 except the tour 2011 and won so many other races meantime. We fanboys have reasons to level him so high.
So once again based on what do you think Contador won't be the same again?
Now is the time he's going to hide himself under "my opinion"...
johnnycash said:What is it then, if its not an opinion?
I assume what you mean is my opinion is unfounded, and therefore you do not value it. Fair enough.
Why would I not like Alberto Contador as a cyclist?
No-one would bet £1000 on bad odds of an event happening (Like AC/CF winning the vuelta) so why would doing that validate my view?
The Hitch said:I think most of what you have written here makes sense, and your opinion that AC wont reach the dizzy heights of 09 11 is not without logic. (I sincerely doubt Contador or anyone will ever go as fast up Plateau de Beile as he did in 07).
However, your doping comments, were wrong as they belong in the clinic, if only because we cannot respond to them here. Feel free to rip him all you want down there.

If you say '07 and '09 that's different but clinic-talk.
Hard to compare it, especially cause it was the giro where he was top though.

Now any of you fanboys going to put your mortgages on AC, after all for you the question is how many minutes he'll win by, the win itself is a given isn't it, so why not?

Joaquim Rodriguez - unlucky man. How do you choose, Tour with 90km tt or a Vuelta with Contador.
Ivan Basso - errr you still want to do the Vuelta?"
You were otherwise so more confident in your case in June that you practically made him superman, what has made you change your mind since then?

johnnycash said:Is that aimed at me? I'm not really 'trolling' am I (such a lame term), I just have a different view to you.
Just been out for a ride and you're still slagging me off for not worshipping him as much as you do. This is the "AC thread", not the "AC is indisputeably great and always will be" thread.
If someone gets attacked for not necessarily being of the same view as you, there's not much point in a forum is there.
I'm not saying AC has peaked because of his age, that has little bearing on GT form as we know but every rider will peak. You think his peak has yet to come, I don't.
End of story.
richwagmn said:Why in the world would the posters to a thread designated as the Alberto Contador fanboy thread believe that Alberto would win? Craziness.

Mind you - does AC even need a team?

He needs the team to protect & aid him "before the final climbs".....cycladianpirate said:Mind you - does AC even need a team?
