PS: Gracias, Alberto, for a great performance!

I did enjoy it though because he seemed to be enjoying it.
vcampbell said:I think it was today a bit of "let's see if Froome will lost contact or not". He never lost really, so Contador stopped (but he also lack of form, but he will be just better than this). Why I were angry is that Purito and Valverde never wanted to ride a tempo. They seemed like they just want to survive, and not to win the Vuelta.
Welcome back Albert!![]()

it's possible to look at that at a different angle. well-known that, unlike many other gc riders, contador needs minimal time to get in shape and be able to attack during the race. the others warm up longer. i'm not saying froome wil get stronger. we just can't make categorical conclusions based on today's stage.sartoris said:Shouldn't logically Contador's form be better and Froome's worse as days pass?
SiAp1984 said:AC did a lot to animate the race today. It was really exciting to watch his attacks, even if I don't like him for obvious reasons.
However, it is a good sign that he does not come out of his break and dominates at the first climb he does in race tempo. Anton and Valverde easily followed every single one of his moves, Froome did not more than he felt was necessary. All the three of them outsprinted AC in the last few metres (CN can't be serious in their report btw- AC did not control his opponents in the sprint... he went for the win and three guys were stronger in the finale). However, he has all the time in the world (and a lot of climbs still to come) in this Vuelta to improve.
I hope the Vuelta will go on like that. Lots of attacks, tactics and close battles. In that case, I do not mind too much who will win it. It might well be AC.

Carols said:The only real conclusions I can make from today's stage are:
The possible winners are reduced to 7 or 8.
Alberto doesn't Yet have the endurance to follow up his attacks; hopefully it comes.
Win or lose Alberto will attack and respect the race.
We're in for a Great Race![]()
