ethanol is maybe good in low proportion for your heart and blood but it's bad for everything else so I doubt it. worse even than ethanol is propanol and methanol found in many alcoholic drinks. I'm not sayign it's conserably bad to drink few but believe me I know many people who drink 2 glasses a day and could never stop with it to me you are an alcoholic then. also if you have kids in my opinion one should not drink and smoke anymore unless you don't mind your kids becoming like that. let's just say drinking alcohol is a bad habit somehow broadlay accepted in society which makes it more dangerous than any drugs I say,
No, sorry we're not talking Uncle JimBob's distillery in Tennessee. No medically significant methanol in any of my beer or wine.
Calling someone who drinks two glasses of wine a day an "alcoholic" is both offensive and just wrong. Clearly you've never known a true alcoholic, where two bottles a day is barely the beginning.
Here's one of my favorite studies on alcohol and health. This comes from 20 years of longitudinal data on 1,824 subjects:
"Controlling only for age and gender, compared to moderate drinkers, abstainers had a more than 2 times increased mortality risk, heavy drinkers had 70% increased risk, and light drinkers had 23% increased risk"

Oh snap, abstainers aren't living as long as moderate drinkers. One hypothesis (I did not come up with this) is that abstainers are at higher risk for depression associated mortality because of a higher incidence of loneliness. Sounds like a bit of a stretch, but still, lol.
