Could we please not forget to mention the man with the balls of steel:

Besides that I really enjoyed the race today. Crazily difficult and very very spectacular. I think some people complain because it was too dangerous but I think downhills like Gröden with many jumps, maybe look more safe but are actually even more dangerous, so I'm okay with that. Its a pity that the race was decided very early, because Theaux was so dominant, otherwise this would have been a very close race.

Sorry, I only watched the race form Reichelt onwards, I was working on an important paper.
I rrewatched it and that was the most impressive thing that I've seen since Bode Miller in Kitzbühel.
Innerhofer to win Wegen and Paris to win Kitzbüel just like in 2013

why not both on a par with each other? ;)

ps: I don't know how to say it when two skiers have the same time. In Austria we say ex aequo, in English I have no idea.

@Gigs_98 Tie :)
Thx
I thought you only use tie for Sports in which two Teams can have the Same number of points like football

No Problem :)
The English language has a tendency to use a one-word-catch-all type whenever something the english aren't good at comes up. Which, in turn, explains why we have approximately 945 words for rain. :p

Lara Gut of Switzerland is showing some consistent, winning form. And widening the Gap between herself and Lindsey Vonn. Closing out 2015 with a win in the Giant Slalom in Lienz, AUT.

In the Meantime, Frida Hansdotter of Sweden is stepping into the gap that has been left open by the absence of Mikaela Shiffrin, who is injured.
Frida took the final Slalom of 2015 in Lienz, as she chases that Slalom Globe that Mikaela took last year

After the races were cancelled in Zagreb, Santa Caterina stepped up to host a couple of Slaloms. One for the men, and one for the women. The flat nature of the hill made it crucial that the racers push hard and make the least mistakes, because the hill made it hard for them to make up lost time.

Marcel Hirscher started the second run in 3rd, .10 of a second behind Alexander Koroshilov with Young Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen only .06 behind in 2nd. But Marcel ripped the second run and pulled out his first slalom victory of the year. This put him back in the Overall World Cup lead again. And put him into 3rd place on the all time Slalom wins list, behind Ingemar Stenmark and Alberto Tomba
Meanwhile, The womens slalom field is wide open, in the absence of Mikaela Shiffrin. Frida Hansdotter slipped a bit too much today . And Norways Nina Loeseth stepped up after a DQ in the Lienz slalom, and took the victory, here in Santa Caterina

Next stop for the men: the classic races in Adelboden!
And Altenmarkt- Zauchensee AUT, for the women

Btw, the downhill in Zauchensee will be a sprint downhill, so two runs of about 1 minute each. The reason for this is that the downhill originally should take place in St. Anton but due to the warm temperatures they didnt have enough snow there. So the fis decided to make the race in Zauchensee where they had enough snow but not enough time to get the whole slope ready, which means that they can only race the second part of the slope.

The photo of Nina makes me think that it's time to start a "Babes on Boards" thread :)

There are some skiing Forums but somehow I Never joined one of these Forums probably because These Forums are normally more about actual skiing than and about watching alpine skiing (i ski too but i dont think thats a very interesting subject to discuss about). Maybe you can Open a babes on boards thread there ;)
:D :D :D

Adelboden gs cancalled :(
Thats one of my favorite 3 races and definitely the best slope for technical disciplines. I Wonder if they will try to make the Race on monday or if they will at least do one more gs somwhere in the rest of the Season. Dont forget they also have already cancalled the Slalom in Levi and if the fis doesnt want to make 2 gs's or Slaloms on one slope (which they said earlier this season) it Will Be very difficult to make up both races

After yesterdays rainy cancellation in Adelboden, SUI. The boys got it on for a rollicking Slalom on the snowy, foggy and treacherous Adelboden track with it's really steep section that free falls toward the finish. The top three of the first run got shuffled in the finishing second run and Viking Henrik Kristoffersen got back to his winning way, taking his third slalom, of the four held so far this season. Austrian World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher stayed in second place, while Russian Alexander Koroshilov gave away yet another lead with his second run performance, falling to third.

After the big disappointment because of the cancelled gs the slalom was maybe the best one since exactly one year when Stefano Gross won in Adelboden with Dopfer and Hirscher within 6 hundreds.
The duel between Kristofferson and Hirscher was just great. The Austrian probably already lost the race at the start because he lost more time there than he was behind at the end. It's a bit sad that the first two were so dominant but the rest of the race was still great to watch too. I especially enjoyed Feller's and Zenhäusern's second run where they finally showed their talent and got the 6th and 7th place.

The women's race was quite entertaining too although after Lindsey's run there was already no doubt she would win. Regensburg was in front at the last split time but her advantage only was so big because she made the majority of the crucial right turn after the split, so without her mistake she just wouldnt have been that far in front. Moreover Vonn's run after the last split time was so good that I didnt expect anyone to come even close to her time on the bottom section, which turned out to be right. The fight for the world cup could become very interesting as well, although I think Vonn has a small advantage because of her better shape in the speed disciplines and the fact that most of the next giant slaloms will be on rather flat slopes. For example Lindsey is my clear favorite for the gs in Maribor (although I still hope they will cancel it and make the race in Kranjska Gora instead, where the slope is way more exciting)

ps: Hütter is on the best way to become one of my favorite skiers. Always good, extremely likable and always in a good mood.

Sorry, but I can't stand Lindsey Vonn. Maybe it's the American media....
Maybe, as a bit of therapy, you ought to take a look at a few pages of Babes on Bikes, to soothe that agitation

I always get the impression she is in a hurry to get to the bottom so she can pose for the cameras.
Whatever the motivation, you've got to admit, it makes her get to the bottom of the hill faster than any of the other women. :)
