Of course you don't have to like Lindsey, But nobody really cares who YOU DON'T like. REALLY.
Spend more time liking. It's better for your soul.

Thanks for sharing! Vonn, while a great skier, seems like a perfect American media darling. Real attention seeker. I guess she's succeeded in that regard as well, drawing in 'lovers' and 'haters' alike! I commend her for that.

Tbh, I don't like Lindsey too. I don't think she is likable and very fair, and (because it seems like this is the only thing people on this thread care about :p ) I also don't think she is very good-looking.
You're very funny. "Fair" there is no "fair" in ski racing. The clock doesn't favor anyone. Yeah, she's UGLY, right! Like I said earlier, This is the internet, and it has more than it's fair share of opinions. Opinions that more often than not, are not needed (especially the absolutely unfounded, negative ones). Though the opinionated seem to think that they have their rights to voice those opinions, and of course they have every right to sound off. But NOBODY cares, NOBODY cares about things that you DON'T like. Think about it, are you spending time trying to recruit other comments that will agree with you, on how you don't like one of the best ski racers of all time? Because YOU don't think she is likable, fair, or not good looking enough? It's a shame that the Austrians are not doing a little better right now, so you could talk positively about them. But for now. You're screaming into a vacuum. We see you screaming, but we can't hear you. :D

At Flachau AUT last night the women held a Slalom on a flat hill in the snow and it was a break through for Veronica Velez Zuzulova as they fought for every opportunity to keep or gain speed down the soft course. Sarka Strachova came in second, with Frida Hansdotter rounding off the podium in third.

Dafuq?
What the hell is your problem. Do you always complain as soon as anyone says he doesnt like someone, or are you maybe slightly biased because you like Lindsey? EVERYONE on this forum has cyclists he doesnt like and I don't know anyone who wouldnt write it down and you know what, freakin nobody cares about it because its normal. Maybe your profile pic is overcompensation because I have no other explanation. Moreover my comment was a respond to other comments in which someone wrote that they don't really like Vonn, so how do you get the idea that nobody cares about such comment when my comment was written because of such a comment.
I also only wrote the stuff with "good looking" because everyone was writing about how female skiers look, I even wrote that into my reply and I actually only meant that I don't think she looks as good as many people say, although I have to say that I wrote that bad so I thats my mistake.
And about how someone can be unfair in skiing. I meant that she cannot loose because she always seeks for excuses and becomes unfriendly. I don't know from where you are, but in Austria we always have live interviews from directly after the race, maybe you don't.

ps: you tell me that I shouldnt post it when I dislike someone while you make fun of Austrians in the same post? genius

The second Slalom of the week in Flachau AUT for the Women, gave us a very exciting race, that is starting to tighten the race for the Slalom crown with 4 slalom races to go in the season.

Young Petra Vlhova of Slovakia ran two dynamic runs and rounded off the podium in third.

Frida Hansdotter, Sweden, pulling for speed, but her lead in the slalom standings has shrunken to 85 points Today she stepped up to second spot on the podium.

Veronica Velez Zuzulova skied from behind, but prevailed for the second time this week in Flachau, and is now putting pressure on Frida for the slalom crown.

Meanwhile at the Classic Wengen the Men were conducting a Super Combined. 1 run Downhill, and 1 run Slalom, added for combined time. After the Downhill, Viking Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway was in an imposing 1st place over France's Adrien Theaux, followed by Viking Kjetil Jansrud in third. But the Slalom proved to be a different deal which reshuffled the top three.
Adrien Theaux slipped a spot, from 2nd after the DH portion, to 3rd in the final standing, after the slalom.

Kjetil Jansrud came down the course 3rd from the end, Theaux could not beat his time, and was in second. And now only teammate Svindal was left with a nice lead to work with.

Aksel tried hard, but in the end he fell behind his teammate by hundredths of a second and fell to second place. A Norwegian 1, 2 and a Head sweep. More Speed to come, as the Classic Wengen Downhill is still ahead of them, followed by the equally exciting slalom set on a hill full of challenging terrain.

Just crazy how strong the Norwegians are this season. They have won 10 out of 17 races and Hirscher alone won 5 of the remaining 7 races so only 2 races didn't go to Norway or Austria. Moreover if Hirscher wouldnt be there the Norwegians would have won two more races (Kristofferson was second in the Alta Badia gs and the santa caterina slalom behind Hirscher) and they would have a triple lead in the world cup standings. Considering that they don't need more athletes than Svindal, Jansrud and Kristofferson for such a success thats just crazy (actually they have even more strong skiers like kilde, but you hardly notice guys like him when three other Norwegians are so dominant)

And another one.

I'm a bit sad for Reichelt, because I don't think there have been many races in the last decade in which his run wouldnt have been enough for the win. His race was crazily good but Svindal was just outstanding.

At the Classic Lauberhorn, one of the fastest Downhills on the World Cup Circuit, where racers have reached 100 mph. The race was shortened up by 1 mile due to inclement weather, which included fog that held the race up for a while. Austria's Klaus Kroell with bib 4 set the pace until Aksel Lund Svindal came roaring down the course and Eclipsed his time by 1.52 seconds. But the excitement didn't stop right at that moment because next racer down was Hannes Reichelt of Austria (who won here last year) who even held the lead, part way down the course. But in the end, Svindal earned his first Lauberhorn Victory over Reichelt by .19 of a second. Taking back the World Cup overall lead, in his see saw battle with Austrian Marcel Hirscher. Tomorrow Hirscher gets a chance to reclaim the lead with the Lauberhorn slalom.

The Classic Wengen slalom for men went through a bit of a metamorphosis and instead of using the classic hill it is usually held on, it was held on the finishing slope of the DH. It had quite a bit of flat terrain. And Turned out to be a real slug fest, as normal form took a back seat and the racers punched and skated their way through the courses with every ounce of ferocity they could muster. And in the end it was a Norwegian weekend in Switzerland with young Henrik Kristoffersen slashing his way to his 4th slalom victory in 5 slalom races this season, and expanding his slalom points lead to 140 points over Austrian Marcel Hirscher who lost on two fronts when he DQ'd in the second run of the slalom, and lost an opportunity to move ahead of Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, in the overall standings. Italians Giuliano Razzoli barged his way into second place and Stefano Gross of Italy came in 3rd with another very physical and athletic slalom run.

Season over for Max Franz after a crash in the first training in Kitzbühel. :(
Thats already the 4th Austrian speed specialist who has an injury this year. Why can't this guy have luck for one single time. He is maybe the most talented guy in Austria's speed team, but he always has a few mistakes in his runs and if he doesnt he is unlucky

Amazing day at Kitzbuhel today. A combined Super G / Super Combined. Full points for the Super G, but then full points for the combination of Super G and evening Slalom, together. Earlier in the day we got a little of everything over a lightning fast and treacherously bumpy and icy Streif course for the Super G. Aksel Lund Svindal the Lightning Viking once again sped down the course faster than anyone else who could hang on and make it to the bottom. Second place was a deservedly ecstatic American Andrew Weibrecht, and third was the man who has become the Pillar of the decimated Austrian Speed team, Hannes Reichelt. After race Svindal extended his lead in the overall to more than 100 points over Marcel Hirscher. But we still had the evenings Slalom to go, where Hirscher might make up some of those points with a good finish in the combined points

The night time was a whole different party! And it had an exclusively French flavor to it. It was held under the lights, after Austrian legend Hans Hinterseer casually and stylishly inspected the course beforehand. This course too was impeccably prepared, almost to a fault. It was chock full of glare icy spots , rolling over it's usually demanding terrain, over loads of rolls, drop offs and side hills that spelled disaster for many of the competitors. Among them were Aksel Svindal who lost any chance at combined points when he crashed early in his slalom run. But more importantly Marcel Hirscher straddled a slalom pole and DQ'd also, which meant that the days efforts yielded him NO points, While tomorrows Downhill will probably give Svindal more points to pad his overall lead.
But it was a French bonanza at the end of the combined slalom, as they swept the podium on Austrian turf. Alexis Pinturault led the French charge, followed by Victor Muffat Jeandet, and Thomas Mermillod Blondin. Tomorrow the WAR on the Classic Streif course!
