Its easy for me to sit here in a chair and make observations about a guy who is racing his ars off at the end a hard climb, but Sergio could have used more road and kept more speed (still not a good line, but maybe more momentum coming out). That being said, he still might not have won.
We'll never know if he'd won, but he's actually pretty quick in a sprint, so i'd have given him at least 50%. And i don't think he took an "alternative" line to keep momentum, he just took a bad one. I think he simply misjudged the corner, and went too wide without any benefit of maintaining a higher speed coming out of that corner. In fact, i'm pretty sure he lost speed compared to Pogacar because he had to hit the brakes.

Given the fact that the straight after the corner was rather short, i think it was a good idea to try and be first out of the corner, but clearly, going first into the corner doesn't mean coming first out of the corner, lol

I mean that once he realized that his line was poor, he should have continued wide instead of hitting his brakes. Easy for me to say right? Maybe the moto messed with his mind a bit too.

Mr. Le Fevre, although a great promoter, and coach has no say here. Although I believe rules are rules, in this case the correct decision was made. The crash around the 3km mark hampered TJs catch. On the otherhand Moscon did not have a chance in hades, and benefitted from the judges decision.
Fortunately TJ wasn't able to to utilise his gift. Þ

Doesn't show live from the mountain stage.
Shows live from the post-stage celebration of the finale stage.
It's ASO behind the coverage for this, right?
Would I be too cynical if I suspect they might have an agenda?

Looks like the favourite-group caught up with the front group.
Live ticker says 25 up front, with all four jerseys.

Tejay is a good guy. He didn't want to win this way, with all the polemics around him so he let the young up and coming riders to battle it out.

The same can be said for the good guy Moscon.

Pretty asinine comment.

Er, why?

It was a quirky comment building on a quirky comment.

But let me clarify: Whether Tejay is a good or a bad guy, I don't know - I think the former but I don't know him that well. I dislike him as a bike rider, though, and no, I do not really believe that he let the race go away today in the spirit of fair play...

I do not think Moscon did that either, and for the record, I don't think he is a good guy at all. Sorry if that is an asinine opinion.

The asinine part is comparing Van Garderen to Moscon. While Tejay has certainly had some big disappointments in his career to this point, by all accounts, he appears to be a really nice guy.

That was really not my intention to do. But I can see why it could be interpreted that way.

EF working hard but to be honest, this scenario right now should favor Asgreen the most.

American races and picture breakups, name a more iconic duo. Year after year, they never improve.

What is the age limit for the best young rider jersey in ToC?? Gregaard is 22 (born in 1996) but apparently he is too old to qualify for that competition.

I think it might be 23, and Gregaard turns 23 this year.

And the info on the screen remains abysmal, year after year.

tobydawq,

My apologies for misinterpreting it. I was a bit testy last night due to being disappointed again.

EF did the hard part splitting the race to pieces and getting numbers into the front of the split. And they promptly went asleep.

What the **** is going on?
There’s no team strong enough to have any sort of control over the race. EF thought they did, but they didn’t. They had 5 guys, and couldn’t work out how to isolate a 20 year old kid who was riding on his own.

I was mostly referring to Asgreen suddenly deciding to go on the attack.
