With regards to the 5 monuments and what next, it's like naming your favorite things to eat:
You mention Risotto alla Milanese (MSR), Ossobuco (Lombardia), Carbonnade Flamande (PR), Vol-au-vent (Flanders) and Waffles (Liege).

Next some people are adamant they want you to include a croquette from the wall with diluted sewer water (Amstel) instead of some homemade pasta with a Brunello di Montalcino (Strade). Go figure.

Weaker startlist when compared to previous editions.

Hopefully Remco wins and I would love to see Del Grosso getting a nice result as well.

I dunno, I love that there are some big classics which aren't monuments. I don't need a 6th monument, but I'd love more big one-days. The monuments are meant to be special, set aside from the others. Love the emergence of Strade, it's a unique and entertaining parcours, in a beautiful region. Gimme more of that, please!

Wow, I’ve never seen someone rate the chances of half the peloton ;)
Axelgaard is the most thorough analyst in cycling :p

Just look at the length of his pre-race analysis - a word counter puts in at 16,316 words o_O

So what was the point?

I was trying to make a math joke here!

Anyway, looks like Bahrain is well-directed in this race:

Best final results in Amstel Gold Race by team directors.

So are you ready for a beatdown Muscleco is preparing today? He will do the same to Pogi and Vingo at the Tour (precisely: just before the Tour!)

Winning Amstel and Liege in 1995. Mauro was the king of Ardennes classics then!
Even Teddy never repeated this feat.
Merckx did it in 1975.

Winning MSR, RVV, and finishing 2nd to DeVlaeminck at P-R by half a wheel after the latter took an illegal feed to hang on and after Merckx flatted 5 km from the velodrome and had to chase back on.

So close to a perfect spring.
