Anybody that knows Armstrong well is laughing their A$$ off right now. The guy is one of the cheapest guys around. The idea that he would just suddenly donate $125K is just absurd.

There is SO much more to this. Only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Armstrong-Verburggen financial relationship.

Follow the money Jeff, follow the money.

You can't just make a broad statement like that.
Give me some examples of how he is 'the cheapest guy around?'

I've never heard this about him.....

Well, you are hearing it now. Check with the owners of some of the joints he frequents (i.e., restaurants, bars, strip joints).

I'm not saying you're wrong, but at least give me a 'for instance', ie, place, business owner or person that saw this and told you about it before making a statement like that?

I thought it was odd that McQuaid mentioned that the $25K was a personal check signed by Lance and his wife. Maybe there's no significance to that, but it seemed like an unusual detail to include.

I suppose Novitzky could always question Kristin and see if her account of why they sent the check matched with LA's stated reasoning. I'm kind of surprised that people that wealthy would be paying for this out of an account that requires both their signatures. They surely must have had other, regular checking accounts that didn't require two signatures (meaning she could write a check for something on her own, without need his signature when he was away at a race, and vice-versa).

My only experience with this kind of checking account is when the funds belong to an organization/club/non-profit, and two officers' signatures are required to write checks over a certain amount (it's a safety feature to prevent one person from embezzling money from the club/organization).

It would seem like a very odd situation, Pat, that there would be bank records of wired money transfers, into accounts with absolutely no paper explanations.

Do these now need some kind of explanations ? Are these why we are receiving so many public announcements ? Are your books being audited ?

Well, the defense that I would expect LA to use is pretty clearly laid down by McQuaid, the second $100,000 was made by LA's "management company Capital Sports and Entertainment." Which is why, offers McQuaid, "He may not have directly known about the later $100,000 donation."

If my management company was donating my money without my knowledge I'd be tee'd off but what do I know about being a millionaire.

Also, does the UCI do any doping tests? I thought I've read that the UCI contracts out lab tests to independent labs, which is one of the justifications McQuaid has cited in the past as a guard against improper influence (if you want a link google it and let us know your results). If they do no testing, why they need a testing machine.
