Okay, so it was 2 of the 3. And actually, your comment was the only insightful one of the bunch.

methinks you are off your meds today, tff. i challenge you to go through my posts and find one example something that might be interpreted as fb-ism.

exactly what about my post would lead you to think that? as a prolific spewer of irony yourself, i thought you'd be able to see when others were doing it. hmmm... i guess not.

Sorry if it was irony, I read it as satire...okay so ONE of the guys who mentioned Armstrong...come on Wheeles, things come in 3's, and apparently me being wrong is following that pattern pretty well today.

This forum really sucks and continues to get worse due to extremely poor moderation. The majority of the posts here now are from trolls and the rest of the posters here cannot resist feeding the trolls.

I guess you're down to 1 out of 3. He says, still stewing over being caught out misspelling intelligence.

Just so you know, I don't think any less of your intelligence for misspelling the word. Now, if you misspelled genius, or wrote a sign like this guy:
get_a_brain_morans.jpg

THEN we would have a problem..:D

+1

I keep losing track of which troll is which. Warmfuzzies writes like ChrisE. If ChrisE is around then Oncearunner is also around. BPC is back. People who are obviously trolling are allowed to go on and on and on until they become intolerable. By that time a bunch of threads have been destroyed.

Is that a teabag convention?

I think so. Either way, it's a perfect picture. Sometimes, harmonic convergence happens...

If memory serves me, I think that was actually a s**** (and an obviously very successful one at that).

I believe there was a regular anti-war group that met on a certain street corner in Milwaukee every week to protest the war in Iraq. At some point, they decided to "create" an opposing group of war "supporters" to drive home their differences and what the anti-war folks perceived the mind set of a pro-war advocate to be.

A bunch oif them got dressed up as rednecks and made a whole load of signs that were misspelled, had slogans that made no sense, etc.

This guy was photographed and is now internet legend.

(Does anyone know why S P O O F is being censored in the first sentence?)

Sadly, you sir are correct.

We mods have done our best, but are beyond overwhelmed. Even the Sparta at Thermopylae were eventually overrun.

I did not know that.

As to censorship, that is, but spooge isn't?

edit: it is P O O F that is moderated. It is a derogatory term for homosexuals on the prison colony.

Looking at that second picture, are you suggesting Hampsten's ITT prowess is built upon a steroid regimen?

C'mon Diet Coke, did you ever watch an Andy Hampsten TT?:)

C'mon....

Now Andy slapping a pre-teen French spectator in a fit of roid-rage is another matter completely.

Just kidding just kidding sheesh!
Not EVERYONE on Motorola was a doper.

I remember watching this stage after work on ESPN same day coverage:

And here I was, thinking that was POM....

# pom, pommy, pommie
noun:- A person from England, probably derived from Prisoner Of Mother England.

# poof, poofter, pooftah
noun:- a homosexual male, also an endearing greeting.

I know you are doing your best and so I don't meant to call you out on doing a "bad" job because I know you are being overwhelmed. It does suck though and of course it's only going to get worse over the next month as Fanboy Comeback Tour 2.0 begins.

But seriously you people making insinuations about Hampsten are just clueless with zero knowledge of this sports history. There is a big difference between people who make allegations toward riders who have questionable ties and events surrounding them vs. riders like Hampsten who never had a single questionable event or allegation surrounding them throughout their entire career.

PS Alpe read "Gates of Fire" by Pressfield if you haven't, best book about Thermopylae EVER.

He may not, but I might. Thanks for the reference.

Wouldn't it be better to just close the forum for new members? Or at least get some delay between joining and the ability to post? At least that way you can first clean up the forum from the majority of trolls, without getting new ones

This thread got moved to the clinic. I didn't post it in the clinic. The roid comment was just tongue in cheek. All I really wanted to know was why he bulked up and why his face changed, because I found the transformation so startling. He sounds like a top guy.

This is my last post on the subject.

Herein lies the problem. Your first post started off with this:

Okay, so he was a blonde-haired, buck-toothed, thin climber type. I then go to his wikipedia page. I click the picture. What? Is this the same guy? is it some kind of optical illusion? Did he start doing roids in the nineties? I'm lost. Can someone fill me in?

And then you threw in a:

It could be deceiving. He just looks so, er, meaty in the later picture. And his face looks completely different. It's just weird.

Which suggests he got bigger muscle-wise (cause his jaw actually got smaller post-surgery). Then somewhere in the middle, when people started calling you on your implied "bulking up" suggestion, you transitioned to this:

Apologies to anyone offended by this topic. That wasn't my intention at all. To be honest I was more interested by his change of facial appearance, which mastersracer and squampton answered for me. Thanks.

But then you head back to a very clearly stated:

All I really wanted to know was why he bulked up and why his face changed

And bulking up becomes front and center again, with his face as an afterthought.

May I suggest the same applies to LeMond?

Wow. What's up with Hampsten rage? If you are cycling in the Tour you pretty much have to accept stupid fans. I know some are really pathetic, but Hampsten was out of line in the Alpe d'Huez with his rage.

Did he make any comments after the events?

@MacRoadie

My position hasn't changed in the slightest. I asked about his change of appearance. Face and body. I mentioned roids with my tongue in my cheek. The post got moved to the clinic. I said I found his facial transformation more interesting. Some members cleared that up for me. There is nothing else to my post. The end.

Last post.
