Five years ago, some people said, "Oh Boonen, he´s the next Pantani, he´ll be dead within few years", and this crap.

Look at 2012, then.

Same with Andy, he´ll be back. Sometimes in life, you gotta eat ****, and Andy is in this period now. But this will have an end, sooner or later, and things will look bright again.

I forgot to mention that was about Sagan, who has a usual beer consumption reaching far beyond human limits.

I've heard a couple of stories about Sagan's beer consumption in the off season, it's pretty sick

Geez only a couple of drinks, you guys acted like he never got drunk before, he even went out for drinking during GT race(Vuelta ring a bell):p

He will be back in top form for the Tour, this is just old Andy nothing more nothing less

I'm not too concerned about the drinking at this point. It's basically carbo-loading while blowing off a few brain cells (and I'll let you guys debate whether he can spare them or not). :D

But the whole inference that he had a "bad accident" that might be affecting psychologically his ability to descend in poor conditions, etc etc, is troubling. He tipped over in a gust of wind during a flat time trial while slowing for a corner (using a disc wheel, I think). Not too big a deal, and he's hardly the first person that has happened to. At the time, it just seemed to be a handy (and reasonable) excuse to abandon an embarrassing time trial. Ok, take some time to heal if you need it. Now it's a never-ending drama.

Is it plausible that he's that much of a head case? Maybe he's fine and will just come back at his own pace in due course. Or not... :D

This is different though, in the vuelta his season was already over.

Now he abandons each race he's riden, his brother is suspended, it's been since the tour of 2011 that he had a decent level, team issues and we're in the middle of march.

Getting drunk now is a pretty bad sign.

Also the estimated number of unknown cases of cyclists drinking hard after either winning or failure might be not so low, we just don´t get to hear it, unlike Schleck.

For soccer players, at least here in Germany, it´s not so special to drink (and they don´t just drink, they also have brawls) after a lost match on Saturday evening.Happens every month.

Pretty much the same pattern as with Pantani.

This what is upsetting me :( Andy appears to be in a downward spiral. I hope some family and friends take care of him and soon. He should be surrounded by loved ones right now not riding a bike.

Wishing him a return to a healthy mental and physical state soon!

I think what people forget is that athletes are at their core still human beings. And some times people need to get blind drunk, get all the negative **** out, maybe have a wee cry, throw up on yourself, stumble into bed & then wake up the next day feeling like hell physically but with a load of your mind.

If Andy was doing it every week, yeah, maybe that'd be a concern. But sometimes people get really drunk. It happens, sometimes you don't even notice it happening. Expecting athletes to be puritans who treat their body like a temple 24/7 is just asking too much from a human being.

Indeed, i fear he will become a second Pantani or Franck VdB, i hope i'm wrong though...

Let's say Ducrot said something during commenting about Sagan being closer to drinking barrels of beer rather than something else.

Kim shouldn't even react to it.

Who the hell cares. How is it anyone business other than Andy's himself that he's been p'issed?

And it's even coming from a polician..

Hypocrisy of highest order. This reminds me of that cringing time where Tiger Woods had to excuse the whole world for cheating his wife.

It doesn't and shouldn't concern us.

So either Kim Andersen was there at the moment or Andy told him it's not true in which case:rolleyes:

Maybe there is somebody who looks like him going around in cycling gear getting drunk and trying to sully his good name!

Kim Andersen denies the drunk story, says not true.

well, what was he supposed to say.

Yes, its true our star rider has been drinking his brain out in Munich, puking all over the place and ended up with 3 over tattooed individuals in his hotel room. Hotel bill of Eur10000, but he will start in an important race tomorrow.

+++++

I understand the lowlife politician apologized for his complete lack of decency.

I didn't have much compassion for him left after he DNFed TA, but this definitely gives makes me feel much more compassion for his situation. I had no idea his situation was this bad (if this really was him). I am desperately hoping he can find the strength to get himself back on the right path. And hopefully Radioshack and it's management stick by him and help to get him the support he needs right now. :(

They're a bunch of retards, they're putting more and more pressure on him when wat he needs his peace to find the love for the bike again

This is so sad. I feel really sorry for andy. He seems to be depressed. Where is frank and why isnt he helping him? I dont know what to say but his team need to stop him from racing and give him time to psychologically heal. If the head isnt right then the body is pointless.
He desperately needs a psychiatrist.
