I didn't estimate it was a litre. The eyewitness did.

EDIT: it's because I mistranslated 'kande'
you think I meant:
url

But I meant:
beer-pitcher-blk.jpg

aaahhh I see. The idea of a 1 litre can did seem a bit funny.

I think what a lot of people here are refusing to acknowledge is pretty simple.

Schleck is a full grown man. An adult. However, he is an adult who seems not to have even the minimum level of pride to actually want to earn his paycheque.

He is a professional, at least in name, he is being paid a significant amount of money to do his job and he doesn't have enough pride to want to earn that cheque.

To keep wanting to coddle him, and make excuses and all the rest, overlooks the basic lack of adult pride. He doesn't deserve fans.

I think he needs to leave and go to a new team next year. Get a new fresh start.

It's a package deal. He and his brother are on the record of saying that they will always be on the same team. I really doubt that that has changed. If anything they've probably grown even more dependant on each other in this time of trouble for both of them.

not surprised at all to read Becca is fed up with Andy's BS.

do you folks know what will be the best solution for Andy?

have his contracted with RSN honored & then NO PRO TEAM SHOULD HIRE HIM AFTERWARDS UNTIL HE PRODUCES RESULTS WITH A PRO-CONTI TEAM UNDER A SERIOUS CUT IN SALARY_SO HE CAN BE FORCED TO "EARN" HIS PAYCHECK & RESPECT TO CLIMB HIS WAY BACK UP.

.......and I'm fvck!ng serious!!!

Funny. Won't happen. Chill out it's not like you are paying his salary.
He will be back, just give the guy some time..

He should go to Cannondale. They lack a real GC contender.

It'd be like with Vandenbroucke (PBUH). He didn't do crap for years, but everybody was all "What if this is the season when he got his act together?". And so, he always had a contract (and, for a long time, with top teams). And that destroyed him.

I dont know if its as simple as that. Andy could be in the grips of a sad depression that several people close to him have alluded to over the past few months. A depression that is getting played out right in front of the cameras week after week. Cyclings a tough sport, and if you're not there mentally you're as finished as if you were physically. Unlike other sports, you can't coast. He's not doing well, he drifts back to the lantern rouge contenders. Maybe he just doesnt have the personality for this game and his brother was a shield for him?

Personally I wish him all the best and hope he can get back to good form again.

You make a lot of good points. It also just seems to be a fact that those at the top of the game go through very good periods in their careers, and also very crap periods. This seems to apply to all elite sportsmen, musicians actors etc.

Contador, the most successful rider in the current peleton has had a number of highs, and also a lot of lows (stroke, ban etc). The highs and lows of Pantani and armstrong respectively do not need explanation. Hopefully Andy comes out of it soon.

its until people get taken away their precious comfort zone that change can finally take place. Andy knows how to "milk" the system-so he can justify his "lack of enthusiasm" & apathy for having professionalism & ethics.

At the moment I don't think many teams would be interested if any considering how much they would be expected to pay him. He gets his act together then it's a different story. A lot of this has happened since his brother has been suspended. Apart from the physical problems I think that has a lot to do with it. And they always made it clear that they would never ride on opposing teams.

Maybe now we know how much Frank's presence means a lot for Andy. It's not just physically but most importantly, mentally. Maybe all this years, Andy depends on his bro, and now that his bro wasn't there to support him, he is totally lost like a little puppy. He looks very fragile to me mentally right now. Maybe he just crumbles under pressure of being the sole leader (maybe Frank has been sheltered him all these years). But he is a professional bike rider and crashing is part of the game. He might be needing more than just help but some TLC as well.

This has some truth but Andy still did well to complete the Tour de France 2010 after Frank crashed out on only the third stage. If anything, he rode better without looking behind to see where his brother was. I think he just hasn't been motivated to ride well since his crash and never had to work so hard to regain his top condition.

The circumstances were different. Frank's reputation has taken a hit because of the suspension and Andy has total belief in his brother. It was bad timing for Andy who was already struggling.

Asides

1) "Hope it's like Ullrich 2002, and he will come back stronger then before like Ullrich 2003."
..... I don't think that is supposed to happen any more.

2) "I would drink with Andy anytime."
.... so would a lot of people, which is part of the problem

AS just has a weak character, unable to make correct decisions for himself off or ON the bike. He NEEDS "Svengali Kim" and Frankenbro to animate him.

wikitruth

" The word "svengali" has come to refer to a person who, sometimes with evil intent, controls another person by persuasion or deceit."

What are Andy's upcoming races?

His original schedule was suppose to be Criterium Internatinal next, followed by Pais Vasco before going to the Ardennes. Who knows whether or not he's going to stick to this.
