Which if any team do you think could make the most out of Andy's talent.

As some other guys says Riis and/or Saxo Bank was his best option. He should have stayed with them. But my god how he screwed him when he left the back door stripping off pretty much the entire backbone of the team for that ego project called Leopard-Trek. And what a fiasco that was. Which leads to another uncomfortable question: who wants to work/hire Andy when he has no problem stabbing his own DS in the back while giving a lazy, spoiled, uninspired and problematic impression in the process?

If i told you his future looks bright i would be lying. I guess this is Karma biting back.

I agree that Andy going back to Riis would be his best move. Bjarne would make room for him also, if he had the money. No Frank though. Andy still has a bit of growing up to do though to realize what his best option would be. Hope he does soon. He is a very good talent being wasted by his own petulance.

Not very likely after Andys trashtalk of Bjarne. Besides, why on earth would he need Andy when he has Contador? Saxobank aint big enough for them both.

This is getting worrying. Andy needs to recover and restart to ride soon. It's a shame that a rider like him is out for so long. On the bright side, maybe this will spice his desire to race and win so we can see a different Andy next year. He's having a Hushovd-like season...

Well until his crash he was completely Formless (first 1/2 of the year) not ill like Hushovd. Now he is injured; Wasted season to date.

Hopefully this teaches him to Take Advantage of the races he does ride to actually accomplish something because you never know when a crash will happen and ruin the rest of the year.

But it's Andy so I have no expectations :D

In my opinion Andy needs to completely start over from scratch, re-dedicate himself to the sport and start working hard now to once again become a genuine GC threat. And he needs to stop giving up in races and exiting when it gets hard. The legends of cycling like Merckx, Hinault, etc. didn't become legends by just relying on their natural talents.

Worse than Hushovd, I remember Hushovd getting something like 5th in a sprint in one of the early sprinters races ;)

He needs to concentrate on races that he can win. If the Tour has too much time trialing then he should target the Giro. He could have won the Giro this year if he did not have a stupid fixation on the Tour.

Agreed, or even focus on the vuelta. Which I think would have suited him well.

The only possible way that Andy could ever return to Riis is if Contador leaves & Andy's contract can be bought on the cheap-other than that-I really doubt it.
Even hypothetically for some crazy situation Bjarne had spare money to spend(which will never be the case anyways:D) and Andy is available-will he be "domestique" for Alberto?

No. I don't think Andy would ever be a domestique for Alberto. But, Andy needs to get his act back together, and it would have to be with a very strong DS. Riis fits that role. It is one reason Andy left in the first place. Riis don't take no ***. Andy still is a young, immature guy, possibly at the crossroads of his career and needs some guidance.
I really believe Riis would take him back. It is all about winning races. ALL about that. Note No-Balls. Just think, Saxo favored for two GT's a year for the next 2-3 years till someone else offers more money. But lets not forget Tinkoff money either.
There is less chance however Andy would buy into that scenario. I would like to see him straighten his a$$ out. I don't like him at all the way he has been last few years.

If Schleck signed with Saxo then Riis should force him to do the Giro or Vuelta and forget about the tour, go after another race that would probably be more suited to him for once. Although I doubt Schleck would ever sign with Saxo as long as Contador remains on the team.

Vino would also be a great DS to turn him back into a GT contender.

I agree with you a 100% on the bold bits of your commentary- I still have flashes of him impressing the world during the 07 Giro-then doing this amazing job for Sastre & Frank in the 08 Tour-then in 09 the way he won Liege & how he was sharing blows with Contador... I mean-where did that Andy go??:(

Vino would be a disaster. The Schlecks want a DS who they can boss around, like Andersen. Well, only Andersen, really.

He needs a sports psychologist that might help. The Galibier stage of the 2011 Tour was 13 months ago. His last worthwhile performance ?

Yes, the same Andersen of last two years at Leopard and RSN;)

The year at LEOPARD TREK was pretty good for him, results-wise... certainly they made some mistakes but they also did a lot right

This year at Radioshack it was mostly Bruyneel ... remember he demoted Andersen and prevented him from directing the big races

It is also about what Andy want and given Saxo will try the triple one day (at least have they publically stated that) there is no way Andy at some point cant avoid being AC´s superdomestique and i dont think he will buy that. The scenario with two potential captains "letting the road decide" is a recipe for disaster á la 2009.

But then again i dont think AS is a likely scenario at Saxobank. You need serious, trustworthy people around you and AS showed he is anything but that. He was perhaps younger, wilder and more immature back then BUT now he is older and yet worser then ever.
