Better to have the first peak in the ardennes or itzulia where he can compete. He'll need that time to get in form as well.

i don't think tour of beijing was that horrible considering that he just recently was able to ride longer rides than three hours.

Ye,maybe Nice is too early. Its certain that he need to have "better"peak than previous seasons. Its bad that there wont be comparsion in race before Tour'13 between him and Alberto since Alberto is doing T-A

Look, I'm no Schleck fan but I'm not bashing him while he's having trouble with crashes and injuries.
His way of taking it easy in 80% of the races he enters might just be history next year.

To accomplish that I hope he can get a solid base for 2013, so he can target Tirreno or the Ardennes.
He needs to find some motivation for the spring races, but I think he's already found it in trolls and critics like you.

I actually think it might be smart for him to focus solely on the tour next season. After this season he really needs to just focus on getting back into form and getting lots of racing days in his legs, and it's not like he would have much chance of winning any of the other stage races. If he can get into enough form to contend for the Ardennes or even just LBL that would be great but otherwise I think he should even use the classics to help build his form for the tour.

Either Ferrari's affair and other forthcoming investigations are gonna to blow up entire cycling and Schleck senior realizes this or Andy's injury is much more serious than it can seem. But to think that it's lack of motivation or willingness to fight is a foolishness, otherwise Andy wouldn't have achieved so many things. I'm seriously worried about his health. No matter to which extent he might be crude, getting dropped from 50k out on flat stage in weakest PT one week race is... not normal. )

Maybe tactic to put pressure on the LADA.
Andy will keep riding for sure.

Yes, could be similar to contador stating that he would quit if sanctioned. Sounds like the Schleck family are generally unhappy with the way things are going, rightfully so.

I don't care if he does nothing until then but TDF 2013 will not be complete without Andy

like father like son, Johny Schleck wants his sons Andy and Frank to quit cycling

I am not surprised at all.

http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/1...-his-sons-Andy-and-Frank-to-quit-cycling.aspx

This is Schlecks. They've always done whatever the f*** they wanted and never cared what others might think. That's one reason why I love them and why the conformists on this forum call them a "disgrace".

One day, they'll walk away from cycling and not look back. There's more to life than cycling and they know it.

That being said I don't think we have to worry about it quite yet. I do believe Schleck senior has true concern for the well-being of his sons but also suspect some Contador-esque blackmail tactic in there.

If Johnny Schleck thinks his boys would be happier outside cycling then he is imo right to advise his sons that way, though probably not in public.

BTW, were Frandy invited to the royal wedding? I dont care much for these things, but i saw articles in the newspapers about all the celebrities that went to this crap and i wondered if our boys were there to represent this thing of ours, seeing as how its a small country and they are some of the biggest stars there.

As far as I know both Frank and Andy are suffering from mental problems right now. I'm not talking about their mentality.

I'm just wondering.. Could Bruyneel via Celaya and Marti pour off Contador and Schleck intentionally? Anyways, these 2 are his people. What do you think? I don't think that's the case, but still...More likely, Frankie is still offended by the fact that he got popped whereas nothing changes and doping in the peloton prospers. Traditional line of behaviour from popped starry rider.

:D

His father says he think the Shlecks should quit and the fanboys are there trying to point them out as the bad boys/rebels of cycling. A different perspective could be them think they should quit when things are hard and difficult. Where is the warrior mentality one wonder?

Your reading comprehension is severely lacking.

You know nothing about their emotional state. That's all I said. I didn't claim or imply anything else.

These aren't "rumors" anyway. Johny Schleck's comments were obviously made for a specific purpose, and are therefore utterly unreliable. If you have anything else, present it please.

Andy not invited on stage at the TDF presentation. I believe the crap year he has experienced will only make Andy stronger, both mentally and physically. He is IMHO the the biggest threat to contador.

Does anyone else believe that he can do it next year?
