In 2012 finished all 3 of the Ardennes, Oman, and Trofeo Palma de Mallorca. iirc his form was actually improving going into ardennes, obviously not enough to contend, but he was getting better. Than the Dauphine crash set him way back and he didn't race again until Beijing.

Also agree with Trevim, I think there are definitely some kind of psychological problems going on with him. And he'll need to move past those problems in order to stage a comeback.

So 5 one day races and one stage race before getting injured in 2012 but best showing was a 22nd?

Based on Christian's post it Might be that his previously existing fear of descending on wet roads has intensified since the injury If that is true his form won't matter so much if it rains and the road goes down. All competitors will be doing rain dances....

Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

It's more that she's piling on Andy when she has a chance just 'because', yet when somebody says the slightest thing against Alberto or she doesn't agree with a poster, she becomes vicious against that poster. You see, that's called 'double standards'.

Yep Andy needs a shrink I feared Frank's ban might affect his motivation but it seems even deeper than that. Unless he finds Joy in the bike again I fear he is lost to us

Although I don't like Andy very much, particularly because of his "Only racing during the TdF" attitude and various of his comments in the press, I don't wish him to go down due to mental problems. Not only could stuff like that affect his life as a cyclist but also his private life...could also be something like burnout...nothing anybody should go through. Hopefully he's getting back on track soon.

And here I was thinking Andy had some really hard work over the winter Yeah, after working with someone as obsessed as Armstrong I doubt Bruyneel would react very well to that sort of behavior. About Frank, he seems to be the hard working type, sadly not as talented. Probably Andy was the break point between him and Bruyneel.

Certainly not, Andy has always treated his profession with a carefree and nonchalant style that irked me. Definitely lacks the attitude of a Champion or even a pro bike racer IMO. It was after that Vuelta that I crossed him off my fav list.

But there was no denying his talent on the bike when he chose to use it. So I still hope/want him to be a force.

But this seems to be way beyond unprofessional; fear of the bike, the course, riding in the peloton IMO losing Frank has made him even more unmotivated and unwilling to do what needs to be done as I feared it would.

Or showing himself to be the only guy in the race that could go head to head with Contador?

There's plenty to like about him if you look. When he's on form in a race he is targeting he's one of the biggest animators of the race, a lot of the time the biggest animator. I like that about him.
