He can't do a decent ride in his territory i.e. the mountains, never mind riding a TTT with Fabian.
He even do prologes bad when he is in good shape, so today is ok. If he could help a little, it would be a very good signal

Anyway he must growing up his shape this race.

He lost 1:27, he was dropped when a bit under 16 minutes were on the clock so about 12-13kms I'd guess.

That's actually pretty good, I expected him to be worse. Happy he was able to make it most of the way though. :) Now just to see if he can make it the whole race.

He soft pedalled to the line anyway.

I think it is, like I said, I expected worse. But I suppose it's a matter of opinion. Don't expect much from Schleck in terms of results though, far too early for that.

He lost 0:51 with his team, the same that Devolder, but andy didnt push. I read In Radioshack Leopard web that he was dropped two Km way froom the finish line, but It should be a little bit more.

Tomorrow will be a hard day for him: flat, long,.. with a climb at the begining, but, the day after is ok, and I hope him to be the best of the team in the mountains behind Horner. He has to improve day by day.

That's all he does. When he does actually make it to the line, that is.

lame to hit him now when he's down
i'm fine with some mocking but not in these conditions. pro cycling needs guys like andy. a guy who can sustain uphill an attack above the limits imposed by sky powermeters
but yes it's even better situation for him to prove them wrong in liege and le tour.

I believe many of his detractors have been mocking him consistently, regardless of his fortunes. Charly Gaul must be spinning in his grave at the *** that are carrying on in Luxembourg's colours.

Come Liège he'll be nowhere. As for sustaining attacks uphill, what's the point when you lose any advantage on the following descent?

Yes. Miserably unprofessional.

especially when nick nuyens had such a sympathetic article written about his broken hip, which for all intents and purposes seems like a very similar injury to andy's.

i know andy has a reputation for not being as dedicated to training, but so does oscar freire, and people love him for that.

Andy finished a long tough stage yesterday. Which is a positive. I hope he hangs in and finishes the race albeit a long way behind the winner on time.

Andy is a good descender, it was discussed numerous times. But evil pro Contador hearsay is able to remember only the Manse stage. And everyone who didn't observe his descending before Manse blindly stick to this hearsay like it is the ultimate truth. It is a myth. It is an absolute hater bubble.

I kind of agree actually. I remember during that stage in 2010 tour with the chaingate incident. He was descending incredibly well to catch contador.

But not as good as his main rivals : Nibali, Contador, Evans etc...I think he freaked out on the Gap stage 2011 stage because it was a dangerous, technical descent and one rider fell in front of him. His opposition made the most of his hesitation. Maybe post Wouter Weylandts too was playing on his mind. It's up to Andy now to find some form and give his fans something to cheer for. It would certainly add more interest to the Tour.

Show me one descent where Andy catches another rider. Just one.

Hey you, Andy was twice attacked by riders who changed on another [Contador, Sanchez, Menchov and Contador, Evans and Sanchez] and could not catch them. I know that in first case no rider wouldn't be able to get them. And you operate with it like a key criteria of one's descent ineptitude??!

Andy was descending like God from Col du Roome, taking maximal risk and gaining 20 sec on Nibali. He pressed Contador on the Madeleine descent. Manse was just a plaguy concatenation of circumstances, however Manse and statements followed it are remembered and relished so often as though it is the only thing to make conclusion. What is more, all these details are remembered by the same people from time to time.
