It's amazing that these two guys (McQuaid Verbruggen) act like they were innocent bystanders who had no power to catch people like Armstrong (who everybody knew was doping, including outsiders like me). These guys were insiders who had to suspect what was going on. Of course they were complicit in the doping. How else did Armstrong have advanced knowledge of the tests?
I hope they talk to Contador and ask him what deal McQuaid offered, before it was leaked that he had failed a drug test.
The tennis officials convey the same sentiment that McQuaid, and Verbruggen state. They must suspect that Serena, Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, Stosur, Ferrer are all doping, yet they do nothing to target test these individuals. Tennis officials act like diplomats that are caught between the doping players who want weaker testing, and the clean players who want tougher testing. Unfortunately there are more dopers than clean players, so the dopers win out.
