Ovetchkin sticks a minute in to Bert in 15 minutes. Chortle.

i think a lot of his countrymen will do well today, the 'gooseman' not the least.

Fanboy throwdown! Would any Bert or Cadel fans like in on the action?
Yep. Go Cadel. This course suits him quite well and he seems confident.

Even Bruyneel is tipping Martin for the win...
Wondering where Phinney will end up...

Phinney finishes with 30:31

Castroviejo 13'58 at intermediate

Porte 27'59 - he will be riding the giro this year which is interesting

Eh, what? Are you saying Porte is Giro bound? That's news to most.

That's the latest. I am only surprised that they didn't sneak Chris Sorenson into the team as well.

People keep on falling.

The course doesn't look that bad from the map but it might be different once the coverage starts

Sprinters are boring. Man, that's a topic that never gets dull.

Nah, sprinters can be quite interesting. They're often outspoken characters who, whether likable or hatable, often add discussion to the sport.

I think it's to compensate for what they actually do, the sprints, being tedious. Gives us plenty of time to talk about what they do when not on the bike.

A bunch sprint in itself isn't tedious. The preceding stage might be.
