Why did Dylan not go Veulta? He would have almost surely won one of those uphill finishes without Jrod and Valverde there

I think he's trying to take it easy, as he's still quite young. He didn't quite shine in the Giro so perhaps he didn't really believe he had it in him

Kristoff easy victory..

P.S Matti Breschel apparently punched August Jensen in the face after finish line.. DQ incoming..
I've done the exact same thing. So embarrassing...

Edit: meaning the premature celebration, not the punch. :p

With the way the weather has been in Bergen this year, the rain here is perfect preparation for the worlds.

Ps. The general area the race is in this year, is where the planned defensive line where Norway would make a stand in case of a Soviet invasion during the cold war. There were a lot of fortifications and stuff here, but a lot of that has been removed.

I guess they're regretting that now?

Who knows. I think they stopped some decomissioning recently, but It should have been stopped back in 2008-2009 when Russia invaded Georgia. My confidence in the military in long term planning is low. They seem to not be able to think more than 2 years ahead.

Another interesting case. Olavsvern was a secret submarine base built into a mountain. They sold it a couple of years ago to someone who rents the dock to Russian trawlers needing repairs or something. Todays route actually passed the base earlier today. Have'nt seen any images from it, but I think it's just a hole in a mountain so that's not really surprising.
