This year the race is centered on Troms County, north of the Arctic Circle. 18 teams will take part, including 6 WT teams. For those unfamiliar with it there's an 'Alpine Village' but don't expect HC climbs. Great scenery, but mutant sightings are rare. A rather unique atmosphere overall.

Looks like a decent parcours, with the new gravel stretch tomorrow and a pretty tough circuit on the final stage. Too bad we won't get arctic temperatures this time, though.

Today it starts with the same finish Kirstoff won in 2015, and he needs to do so again to get a bit closer to #100. But beating Corbin Strong in a late season uphill sprint is certainly no easy feat

I wonder if they expect strikes from the timekeepers on stage 3.

At least in Danish, the name of the finishing place means 'do the measuring yourself'.
The rider in the breakaway right now in the green jersey (Martinsen) is one of two brothers in this race who is from the finishing place on stage 3. Målselv.

Maybe one of them would like to get to the finish himself (komme til mål selv) on that stage...

Sorry... that was bad...

In Kvæfjord they've baked a giant cake made out of 7500 eggs. Crazy stuff, but a shame it isn't shaped to look like Dag Otto Lauritzen.

What kind of cake? Pretty sure there was more in it than just 7500 eggs. A "cake" made of 7500 eggs is an omelette.

 I guess it depends on how much he wants to arrive alongside his brother, but then again they are not from "mål sammen"

It is a Kvæfjord cake. Also know as "the best cake in the world". You need to separate the egg yolk to bake that cake. Someone had a lot work to do

I guess it is now also the biggest cake in the world

Someone's a little biased, huh?
I think it was the biggest cake in the world.

Considering the weather, I'm expecting Ingebrigtsen to go solo soon.

do they have enough of it left to replace the "get your weight in salmon" prize?
