The fix has long been in.

President of CAS is IOC Vice President. President of WADA is IOC Vice President. No conflicts of interest to see here, no siree!

Sounds like WADA is getting hammered at the IOC Session..

Matt Slater ‏@mjshrimper 1h1 hour ago
...IOC members lining up to agree with boss: it's WADA's fault, McLaren's report is unproven, anti-doping views = political interference

Jacquelin Magnay ‏@jacquelinmagnay 43m43 minutes ago
Bach getting strong support from IOC floor for a restructure of WADA. Sets IOC in open conflict with governments which half fund WADA.

Paul Kelso ‏@pkelso 19m19 minutes ago
IOC Session seems to be saying solution to Russian abuse of Olympics & state doping is to restructure @wada_ama the body trying to stop it

Seems IOC not happy that WADA is even only barely trying to police doping. IOC obviously just want it to eat donuts and watch tv than do anything about doping.

I hope this games is a massive failure. massive. Sick of the hypocrisy of the olympics.

SPORT IS SERIOUSLY BROKEN.

Jack Robertson WADA investigator

“Those involved in running sport are former athletes, so somehow I figured that they would have honor and integrity. But the people in charge are basically raping their sports and the system for self-interest. Sport is seriously broken.”

https://www.propublica.org/article/olympics-top-investigator-secret-efforts-undermine-russian-doping-probe?utm_campaign=sprout&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=1470279227

Read this and then ask yourself how does someone compete clean? and then why would you?

I dont understand how an athlete would continue to compete in pro sport without entering into doping. I think an athlete has a choice of dope or leave.

Good article. How on earth is the head of WADA head of the IOC? It is maybe one degree removed from having the mafia boss being chief of police.

At the end of the article he references two deaths within weeks of each other of Russian anti=doping higher-ups. It struck me because I think last week an article circulated of an interview regarding whistleblowers and literally having to fear for their lives.

Yes, that would be the one that made Matthew Syed of The Times giggle hearing Ross Tucker talking about insiders afraid of speaking out for fear of retribution.

I wonder if Reedie and WADA decided to give the whole press conference thing a miss this week knowing what Epstein was about to publish? The article features their responses to the claims made by Jack Robertson. Reedie's position is surely untenable, but then I remember this is executive sports administration where nothing is untenable. Just ask Seb.

The only silver lining to the whole Epstein story is the vote of confidence Roberston gives to the WADA boots on the ground and their integrity. The corruption is one of leadership.

It has often occurred to me sport appears to be run similar to mafia crime syndicates. The death of Russian anti-doping officials and death threats to whistleblowers adds to it.

IOC, as Landis rightly stated, set up WADA as a PR stunt. It would appear most ADAs are PR. Sport, sadly, is broken.

It really is. Omerta is more than just a convenient figure of speech. If you want to really get disgusted follow the NFL and CTS. It would make Philip Morris' mouthpieces blush.

Craig Reedie demoted from Vice Presidency of IOC.

Two of the 3 on IOC panel which cleared around 270 Russian athletes for Rio get rewarded with exec board places.

Sport is Broken.

"Russian abuse of Olympics???" Are you kidding me? And since the governments help fund WADA (recent report says US and Canada are top 'donors') isn't that 'state run?' Whoever pays the most, gets out of it the most, right? And look who was behind the movement to ban the Russians from Rio. And look at the amount of known dopers in the USA team that get to compete in Rio, whereas dozens of Russians who are tested to the teeth outside of Russia and have never failed a test, get to stay home. Someone should tell Kelso (is it the Kelso from That 70's Show?) that the Olympic movement has been abused for a long time now and that the USOC (which is sponsored by the US government) helped cover up hundreds of positive tests in recent times (and who is to say that they aren't doing that still?). But I guess Russians are the only ones that dope.

Well of course - now the charade has been exposed, they'll relabel it, make it less effective - et voila - doping in sport problem solved!

Yep, i bet Bach and the others are wondering why they bother funding it when they could pocket the money.

I bet they come up with a suggestion to make others pay for it and they get a %. Hey they gotta put food on the table!! Badabing!

*** Pound

"You can test all day and not catch people because they know how to avoid the tests.

"So, in this case, the real culprits are the IFs and other organisations who have not found positive cases because they have no interest in catching cheats.

"To deal with 206 countries with a budget of less than $30 million (£23 million/€27 million) is ridiculous, quite frankly.

"We cannot possibly do the job we need to do."
http://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1042151/exclusive-pound-doubtful-olympic-summit-of-usual-suspects-will-fully-solve-global-anti-doping-problems#.V-6SneKFDXs.twitter

Please tell me someone who believes that Sky or anyone else for that matter can win clean.

The culture to dope is promoted by IFs, by the very fact as pound says they have no interest. Just look at Cookson's deafening silence on Wiggins, the failure to do anything about Dr Bonar, Armstead and on and on.......

WADA not fit for purpose. Just there for PR

Kenacort ‏@vayerism 22 minutes ago
The problem with using different labs is that different labs have different positive criteria.

So a positive isn't always a positive

WADA labs have different "acceptance criteria" so a positive in one, doesn't equal a positive in another.

What the *** is going on?!

Steven colvert case. Page 16-20.

Read it. And tell me you believe it the "EPO "TEST""

The worse thing about the Colvert story is he gets nothing. Nothing. He shows us a massive flaw in the "EPO "TEST"" and gets nothing

Although Landis proved that the A and B should be tested in different labs. WADA changed nothing. Colvert just displayed it again

Any credibility WADA ever did have went out the door when Pound finished his term :(

It's interesting to note UKAD played a key role in preparing/checking/regulating Rio's antidoping protocols. Reedie had assigned them for that purpose.

Wada reveals up to 50% of drug tests at 2016 Olympic Games had to be aborted
Olympic athletes could not be found due to ‘lack of coordination’
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/oct/27/wada-serious-failings-rio-2016-olympics-anti-doping
from comments section:
'The whereabouts information entered into the ADAMS system was not detailed beyond "Athlete's Village" - a sprawling, 30-building complex that housed some 18,000 people.'
compare this to the Lizzie Armistead situation where she was initially at least deemed to have missed a test for having only specified the hotel she'd be in and been uncontactable... standards have dropped through the floor!

Obviously IOC approve of doping.

WADA the joke that keeps athletes laughing all the way to the bank!

Doesn't matter, they still would have submitted negative doping controls. These athletes know they would be tested at the Olympics and prepared accordingly, only the insanely stupid and incredibly desperate athletes would have given suspect samples.

Seriously, does anyone think that there would be any positive tests in the 50% of the athletes that weren't tested? The athletes certainly weren't clean, they were just prepared....

Based on London and Bejing retests, I would say there would be a fair number caught.
Maybe not in 2016 but before 2026.
