OK I guess I need to walk you through it. I thought an experienced internet warrior like yourself would have the skills for this.
1. Click on this link : http://www.scribd.com/doc/16226502/Lance-Armstrong-Doping-History
2.See where it says "Part VI: Contemporary Challenges? Good job.
3. Scroll down to page 22/53. That means page 22 out of 53 total pages. so it will be just short of 1/2 way through the article.
4. Read starting where it says " In 2005 Armstrong cofirmed he made a donation of "six figures" to the UCI......."

There that wasn't so hard, was it?
While you are there you might want to read some of the rest of the article, it might help to aleviate some of this "man love" you seem to have for Lance. I know it worked for me.

Me too.

That information you linked is just brutal. It makes one wonder how LA has his way with the adoring public. I look at myself and wonder how I missed all this stuff. All this time I thought LeMond was such an a-hole and believed Floyd got a raw deal, but never questioned Pantani and Ullrich (and others) being involved with dope. Weird, huh?

I think it's just hero worship run amok. People like who they like and they like Lance.

Grats on becoming well-attuned to reality. :)

I highly recommend the book "The Death of Marco Pantani" if you want to learn more about Pantani and Italian doping in general. Hell, that book is like a true-life Shakespearian tradgedy. Good stuff.

Eulogy on the BPC saga: thanks to the mods for banning that guy again and cleaning up after him. This was the first time I have ever called for anyone to be banned. But one cannot have a discussion with a fanatic that ignores reality and that was what BPC was.

Gee, I kind of miss his wry irony and comedic timing. Nobody has ever shown quite his gift for circular reasoning.:D

The story of Armstrong is beuatiful, and it's hard for me not to wish that there is truth in that beauty, but the thing is, this is a recycled story. It's Virgil's The Aeneid retold on a bike.

The virtuous hero Aeneus/Lance escapes certain death to rebuild Troy/le Tour after it has been burned by the trickery of the trojan horse/Festina Affair/Pantani's bust in the 99 Giro.

On a seperate note... images of Armstrong are all over the place in the world of cycling, to the extent that we probably don't even pick up on them anymore. Are you fully aware of when you see video of him crashing on Luz Ardiden or "cyclocrossing" around Beloki for the millionth time? I not.

No, ChrisE is another animal from UBPC indeed. Its like getting rid of the clap only to find you have the crabs...and then the clap comes back too...

LMFAO - I take it your troll fighting force shield up now?

OK ChrisE, your join date was a while ago - doesn't prove you aren't BPC, but I acknowledge that it's highly unlikely and RR thinks you aren't, so ok. RR also thinks you are playing stupid though....and I still think you are being a deliberate pain in the ****. You didn't address my earlier comments to that affect - no answer then?

Yeah, and not only did I catch some real fish, but I seem to have snagged a bunch of mullets in this forum while I was gone.

UCI Donation - Here's some hair splitting, mellow yellow, once again. In SCA sworn deposition LA states it was $25k. This is stated by Mrs. Anti-LA herself, Betsy.

You and your wad of mental midgets proceed to scour the internet and link to whatever trash you can find to prove otherwise. I stated upthread I know where the $500k talk came from, but I cite sworn testimony. I stand behind the source I posted, since if it was not true she would be all over it.

Then, Hugh Januss (that is funny, I usually use "Mike Hunt" when I freep forums) links to a power point to prove how big the donation was. Well, that is the "paper" that trumps SCA testimony's "rock" for sure lol. Putting quote from the German UCI lady in a power point doesn't make SCA go away.

You guys can just make up some power points to prove your alternative universe exists. Who needs debate lol? Alas, this isn't debate so I will no longer comment on this subject.

Cofidis Salary - RR linked to something that said it was $2.5 million for 2 years. Then, somebody named gaylic ho posted it was 6 million francs. This, after gaylic ho told me to read the link when the link is where I got the 2.5, and pointed out to RR that math doesn't jive with the 75% he claims was honored by Cofidis, as well as the Cofidis salary being $600k, which I assume is per year. Gaylic ho should lay off the glue sniffing while posting.

RR still hasn't clarified that question. And, all of this gibberish to prove LA had more personal wealth than anybody else in the business in 99. All of this proves LA was the only one that could afford the special ultra-expensive go fast sauce, which is the source of this little argument. Right.....

Gaylic ho goes on to blah, blah, etc. with an extravagant cut/paste. I bet that was fun. Now run along now, gaylic ho, and go clean your room. And, lay off the glue.

Or, go play with Hugh Januss. You two have to be "linked" some way lol. Or, maybe you are the same person with all of these multiple usernames flying around. I think a Hugh Januss would go with a Gaylic ho lol.

As with the above, this isn't debate. A bunch of "facts" are flying around with no way of ultimate verification. So, you mullets soil your drawers over this post while I go look for smarter fish. :D

(please use the above wording in any future correspondence. It will shorten our read and still provide the same quality of commentary)

Funny, you ask for references and then receive them. Then you come in howling like a monkey about it. I didn't know monkeys could fish? Of course, crabs can "fish" so to speak, so I guess maybe my initial assessment was correct, and my "monkey" reference was in error. You are most certainly a crab, unfortunately you aren't the kind that fishes either. Dang, I have no references for this either...except for your posts.

Its funny, since everyone howled about calling Lance a "cancer," I began calling him the venereal disease of cycling. Now we have a venereal disease on the CN forum. Well, at least we got rid of the clap...I hope.

You seem to have this fixation on VD.

Alot of times when somebody shows an acute interest in something it covers up inner demons. Like religious folk railing against homosexuality, adultery, and pedofiles while doing the deeds themselves.

Most of this stuff can be cleared up with anti-biotics. You must have something that kicks penicillin's *** that you have to deal with on a regular basis.

Can we just cut to the chase and update your username to reflect your condition? I suggest simplex 2, or VW which could be short for venereal warts. Or, is it something else? Your call...it's the least I can do since thankfully you are the one that has to live with what's in your underwear every day.

And, thanks for adding to the spirited debate. I always look forward to engaging in discussion with somebody as intelligent as yourself in the marketplace of ideas.

Take care, VW. :D

Susan, thanks for the long leash here.

Have you had the chance to read upthread a few pages? I think there have been enough insults to go around. It is hardly a one way street here.

How clever. You don't like being corrected do you? Child...hahaha. The use of "lol" gives it away. When your balls drop and you pass puberty come back and you might learn something. Till then read what you typed:

How can I post a message about 6 million francs before (you using the subtle word "after") telling you to read an article? Your sense of linear placement is confusing? Oh wait, I did it all in one post and not as your grammar and sentence structure suggests, in two separate acts. One incident did precede the other, but not in the order you suggested. Hello...you still there? Or is this too hard to follow. I posted that I would not do the currency conversion for you. Race Radio was hounded by you because your faulty brain cannot comprehend that the figures given were in fact very close to the 75% suggested. I showed they were correct and you cried. Pity you didn't quote me showing they were 73.95%. RR rounded up by 1%, oh no! My post pointed that out and I could have explained it word for word, but I figured your IQ could figure that bit out. I was sadly overestimating your cognitive faculties. I won't repeat that mistake.

If I find your deliberately refer to someone with a malicious subversion of their screen handle I will do something about it (I remember most things, a trait poeple whose brains work properly have in common). BanProCycling was a pain in the ****, but never crossed the line you just did. I'd advise you not to cross the imaginative PC line again or I'll contact the moderators and I have every faith they will act. In case you are really stupid I'll spell it out for you, attempting to slander people as gay (you didn't use the correct historical and dictionary version as evidenced by your tone) is a big no no.

Cut and paste...yes, from a hard copy. Nice try, actually refute the math next time. Or RR's point. Better yet, call people names and cry like a petulant brat when you can't. The crux of the information instead needs to be addressed in an intelligent response rather than letting your whining ego run amok because it has been spanked across the forum by the best part of half a dozen posters. Give David Walsh a call, I'm sure he'll provide documentation and proof of the Cofidis testimony. The money stands as correct.

As with the above, this isn't debate. A bunch of "facts" are flying around with no way of ultimate verification. So, you mullets soil your drawers over this post while I go look for smarter fish

Good luck finding smarter fish with your grasp of the english language. They'll all laugh at you. Your basic sentence structure blows. Please fix it. You'll probably need to go back to school though.
RR still hasn't clarified that question.
Which question? When referring to questions people have asked, remember we're not all mind readers, so restate the question.

Lance also said he can't really remember. Which is rather convenient.

And you don't see the conflict in interest. Brilliant.

I'm sorry, Gaylic ho. Please reread where I stated I would no longer "debate" this. It's a no win situation because none of us were there, and there is contradicting info to "support" all positions.

I think RR can defend him/herself. He/she doesn't need you to take the lead in clarifying what he/she wrote. Thanks.

In closing, per Susan I will try to no longer respond with insults when stupid people (oops, there I go again. It is a work in progress) try to engage in conversation with me. So, you are my first test. I will let the comment about the location of my testicles slide because that must not have been an insult. As you noted several times, my interpretation skills are severely lacking.

I want you to know that I appreciate you taking the time to try to brainwash me into the army of LA hatemongers. Maybe I will come around eventually. My goal is to eventually evolve into some type of gaylic ho/VW/hugh januss/mellowyellow hybrid internet LA hate machine whose main form of ammunition is power points. It is a stretch goal in my life but we can always dream.

Thanks again for your time.

Yes, I see a conflict of interest. That was not the point of the discussion, and I never stated my position on that until now. No offense, but you guys seem to project alot around here.

Question is: Does it matter? As I've said the amount is neither here nor there.
Were it half a million or 25K, the conflict implications remain the same.
Poor men can hand over neither.

Says the guy who insults and who tells us we're 'hate mongers'.

Secondly, since when is telling the truth, a symptom of hate?

+1...... Any donation by an athlete to a ruling body is a conflict of interest. However, while I personally think it was inappropriate for Lance to make the donation, it was waaaay more inappropriate for the UCI to accept it.

Yeah, but the the response from the poster will be "so what?"

Tough to argue with someone who views moral relativism as just a cost of doing business. No black and white, just shades of grey...

For the record, like I stated to digger I never stated nor was the subject ever brought up about the conflict of interest issue. The subject shytstorm was the size of the donation....you guys win via powerpoint over SCA deposition under oath, I admit this just so we can move on.

Again, it is a conflict of interest and he shouldn't have done it. I doubt it was for altruistic reasons. How many other pro cyclists have done such a thing? It's asinine on it's face, and only a dumba$$ would believe he did it "out of the good of his heart". I agree the UCI is as much if not moreso at fault than LA.

Y'all seem to equate my rant about the amount of grief this guy gets with me being some LA fanboy that sees him doing no wrong, like BPD or UBPC or whatever the buttsniffer username of the day is. That's an assumption far off the mark.

Nice try, though....I realize the first course of action when a group is threatened by somebody not in lockstep is to circle the wagons and define us vs them with a broad brush. You guys cannot help it due to human nature and that is understood.

Scott - it's not nice to take something out of context and apply it to all circumstances. You can do better than that.

Digger - I said I would try to curb the insults upthread, and it would be alot easier in my recovery if y'all would do the same and stop bringing up the past. Thanks.
