Can't find the .gif there, but I did see certain things on those pages I myself would not have allowed on this board

Yes some of those posts were over the top. But they were posted before "the dark times" of which we never speak.
The .gif shows on my computer

Now what some people appear to have overlooked is the fact that there was a specific instance as to why the thread was banned. A certain .gif was posted and sexist remarks came about due to this .gif. It was this which was the cataclyst for the closing of the thread

No. The truth is admin has looked for a reason to shut the thread down since it started. A tactical error was made by allowing it to continue for this long.

Additionally, the more the decision is defended the more offended some get. I don't think most like having their intelligence insulted.

The thread upsets a few and has been deemed inappropriate by admin. You or someone with the power should delete the thread. If it was inappropriate yesterday it will be inappropriate tomorrow.

Kill it already.

I agree with Scott SoCal, and Krebs303. Stop the the whiny, half baked, no decision making. Kill it, and let's all move on. The Mod/Admin debate points since it's lock down have been shameful. I know I wouldn't be proud of their position, if I were amongst them.
As Scott pointed out, if it was inappropriate yesterday, it's inappropriate today. And, because as krebs303 has informed us , it's had 2000 hits since yesterday, it has shown that it isn't going to go away, unless you put it away. Whatcha gonna do????? Have y'all got what it takes?:p

Current situation: (That I am aware of)

To those arguing that one Mod should not make the decision, I would say that a group of volutary mods with no connection to the site should not be making a decision of this type either as there is no guidance from the owners.

I contacted the CN editors yesterday and asked them to set the standard of what is and is not allowed on this forum of this type - and by extention, a ruling by the owner of the site whether BoB is to live or die.

We were given guidelines before " no nipples and no pink bits" I have always used as my guideline if you can be on the street and not be arrested it should be alright on the forum.

And where's my post? I carfuly create these works of ART and do not appreciate them being removed without my permission, especially because as Krebs pints out I am grand high commander of this forum.

Here have a picture of some hotness.

Hmmmmmmm. How very --- interesting. I just went back to look for the aforementioned offending pic, "just to see what the fuss was about", you know. A LOT of photos in the BoB thread that came up earlier today do NOT come up now! Huh? Whats up with that? Krebs pics seem to be particularly hit.

It was a nice thread, a fun thread, and sometimes (ok, quite often) some of the postings were too much like cheesecake specific.

You know, we could make a rule that the photo really has to be about women and cycling - not someone just posed with bicycles. Those instances where a professional actress or model was pictured with bicycles - eg the series of that actress strutting for Team Sky - should be allowed. They are still actually involved with cycling. The old Supreme Court ruling, folks, what is the purpose? Is it solely to titillate?

But it has all probably gone too far now. So many hot-headed words have been said.

Wow. The only decent response so far by a mod about this.

As I think has been said numerous times before - mainly in situations like this - it is a mistake to assume that silence (or apparent silence) from moderators means that we are not monitoring discussions closely, carrying out our own detailed discussions, and looking for ways to deal with situations.

Its also a mistake to assume that the end result will always be one that is negative from the point of view of the general forum membership. Sometimes yes, through necessity, but often no.

The implications from a lot of people in this thread have been that Terry was the only person reading it and/or the only mod that cares about a satisfactory resolution to the situation. This is erroneous

I do live in Italy as well, but here I am more attracted by bicycles than by the local girls.

Well, let's just say, both are fine. ;)

If you are una ragazza, though, perhaps such would be of less appeal/curiosity. Ma le belle ragazze ci fa piacere, perchè sono un dono della natura e danno un conforto, una speranza, in un mondo altrimenti pieno di brutti uomini!

Thank you Martin!

You have shown that men who look at pictures of attractive women next to bikes are not evil masturbating misogynists. I am fairly certain that I have never touched myself in a threatening manner while looking at that thread, nor do I consider my wife or any woman as subservient to me and worthy only of objectification. I just enjoy looking at beautiful women. That does not preclude women from being beautiful in other ways. I just enjoy looking at beautiful women. There is a period at the end of that sentence.
