That's the second time you suggested you are going to take down Coe. How you going to do that. It's not like you can go back in time and take blood samples.
there's no second time. he was quoting an old post. back then i got carried away.
right now i'd say there's nothing to prove either way wrt Lord Coe.
nevertheless, i've seen some good posts in the last coupla pages, and in fact i had forgotten about the Conconi link, so MagnificentMerckx bumping the thread wasn't all in vane.
What if MM pulled out his Coe-defense-act not to defend Coe, but to dig up dirt on him.
How else would you explain MM's obvious troll act in here?
Anybody know who's running against Coe for the IAAF presidency?

So you are saying someone who wants to find out if there is anything against Coe would, rather than just spend 10 seconds making 1 post that says "hey guys, is there any dirt on Coe", instead opt to spend days creating post after post after post through a troll account baiting people accusing them of jealousy etc.

I mean, we know you like to see shadows everywhere, but come on.
If you're a pro-Coe-troll, why bump this thread with a sweeping COE IS CLEAN-statement which you know will trigger posters to bring up the Conconi link and stuff about blood doping, etc.
But fair enough, I might be giving too much credit to MM here.

This report is going to be a real game-changer for sport,” says McLaren. “Unlike FIFA where you have a bunch of old men who put a whole lot of extra money in their pockets, here you potentially have a bunch of old men who put a whole lot of extra money in their pockets – through extortion and bribes – but also caused significant changes to actual results and final standings of international athletics competitions. This is a whole different scale of corruption than the FIFA scandal or the IOC scandal in respect to Salt Lake City.”

It's going to be fun seeing Baron Coe pretend he had no clue about any of this.

Baron Coe could end having a short term as president! Won't affect his British 'business interests' if Jeffrey Archer is anything to go by!

This is a great watch right now. Too many gems to list.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/33985484

Love the bits at around 2.30 "Russia is a power house of track and field"
There to 3.50 "the IAAF are leader the world in anti-doping"
Refutes all allegations of corruption at the top
really admires and has great respect for the people on the IAAF he has worked with and sat alongside (Diack).
Around 5 mins repeats IAAF world anti-doping leader for all sports and more denial of allegations.

Best bit - he tells us repeatedly that he and his mates at the top are not and never have been "asleep at the wheel". Well then, that leaves two possible reasons for what has happened without him noticing, happening; and I don't think choice one "I'm really, really stupid" fits. So that leaves the other reason, which does not look good.

Baron Coe has too many powerful friends and too many pet journalists backing him I'm afraid. Would love it if he had to step down though. In any normal world there would be no excuse for his incompetence.

VN wades in with a hilarious article: http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/11/news/seven-things-track-and-field-can-learn-from-cycling_388899

One of the best lines written on VN (not much competition admittedly): "Sebastian Coe is track and field’s version of Pat McQuaid."

Follow by 2 of the worst: "Trust us, you want to move straight to a Brian Cookson. The first perceptible turnaround in cycling came after Hein Verbruggen and McQuaid were both removed."

It's hard to look at the current/former heads of most of the world's top sports and think who's credible, anymore?
FIFA - Blatter, Platini and all their cadre.
Athletics - Diack, Coe and all their cadre.
Cycling - McQuaid, Cookson and all their cadre.

The issue is Coe is not voted by the public but by the federations. By providing them with major events, kickbacks and never testing positive cards he will be in power for he next 30 years.
