And is there a breakdown by rider of the points that each rider has, so that there is transparency about which riders earn points that are of value, and which riders' acheivements are a waste of an opportunity for their team?
Thanks, but I think those are the PCS points. But probably a high correlation.
So Froome's 3rd on Alpe d'Huez did nothing for the team? Thomas de Gendt's Giro stage win was no help to the team's campaign?
It also promotes teams with a few good riders and anonymus rest of the team over more well-rounded teams. Personally, I think the latter are more fun to watch. The criterion whereby only 10 riders count seems odd, at best.
Is it the best ten each season, or the best ten in total over the three years, regardless of whether they are still at the team?
Either way, it seems to set in concrete the idea of tactical support for team leaders over occasional opportunists, which seems unfortunate, at best. A team with a decent sprinter would actually be better off chasing down a lone break involving one of their riders if that breakaway man is not in their top ten.
The team points are, but not the individual points: compare PCS points filtered for Lotto (over last year) with the numbers when you sort the team page by ranking: they are the same.No those are the UCI points.
So Lotto Soudal are only kept anywhere near being in contetion to stay single-handedly by a neo-pro. Doesn't reflect very good on the rest of the team.Breakdown for UCI World teams ranking | ProCyclingStats

Maybe you're not clicking what Samamba told you, you need to click literally the number of each team's score in UCI team ranking
George Bennett and Sam Bewley actually discussed this on their podcast a few weeks before the TDF. Their view on staying safe would be to send your best classics riders to a whole bunch of 1.1 races and clean up points there. One example they gave was Dion Smith getting more for second in a Belgian 1.1 than Matthews did for his Catalunya stage win
They also covered that, as they picked apart the whole process. Another thing they mentioned is the number of race days teams and riders will be cramming in at the end of the year.I think maybe a team's best classic riders would not be so happy doing belgian 1.1s instead of WTs
Meanwhile Bolton Equities are ahead of half the pro conti Teams off the back of their results in the Oceania championships and NZ nationals. So Lotto Soudal are only kept anywhere near being in contetion to stay single-handedly by a neo-pro. Doesn't reflect very good on the rest of the team.
To be fair the Hellas Tour GC is a bigger victory than most of the PCTs they're ahead of have managed all year.Meanwhile Bolton Equities are ahead of half the pro conti Teams off the back of their results in the Oceania championships and NZ nationals.
Aaron Gate is their only rider to have done anything of note outside NZ with the Hellas Tour GC win
That's mainly because Aaron Gate should be on oneTo be fair the Hellas Tour GC is a bigger victory than most of the PCTs they're ahead of have managed all year.
Israel desperately tries to avoid relegation and signs Teuns already now to score some much needed points in the last part of the season.
Wonder how much they paid Bahrain to let him go already now.
Even with Teuns (his first 125 points won't even count) I just don't see them catching Movistar. Only chance is if Movistar completely bottles it and Mas fails again and Valverde/Cortina/Aranburu don't score points in some french/Italian one day races but that's not going to happen. They might be able to catch TotalEnergies in the yearly ranking tho, and that's important to secure that guaranteed Tour WC for next year. I'm pretty sure that's why they're panicking. Becoming PCT wouldn't be that problematic if they keep putting in tons of money (riders will stay if they just get fat contracts), but they need to be in that yearly top 2 of PCT teams and right now theyre almost 400 points behind Total (1250 behind Lotto)
When Sagan wins the World Championships in September, will his points count for TotalEnergies?
With their current windfall profits Total Energies could sign every professional rider on a ten year contact without denting their balance sheet. When Sagan wins the World Championships in September, will his points count for TotalEnergies?
