don't think this has been posted yet...gastauer's luxembourg TT jersey. nice to see a luxembourg champion have the entire jersey covered by the flag

Oh thanks, I had been looking for this! I like this a lot, what a shame he doesn't get to wear it all the time. Plus next year he will lose it even if Jungels pedals with one leg :D

The only weird thing is the brown in the crotch (and I assume lower back?!) area... but AG2R have great jerseys (IMO) and make some of the best national champion's jerseys!

This could be awesome, but it might be dreadful. I can't decide.

What do you think?

EDIT: I'm tending to awesome - it helps to have it on a sprinter who eats etc

FURTHER EDIT: Just realised its a skinsuit - meh - that's any possibility of awesomeness denied.

yes - I am just going to pretend I didnt see it was a skinsuit.

Big of FDJ to keep all their logos off it, or so small I cant see them, guess it helps being French team/sponsor etc

Okay... I can't actually find any pictures here.

But I gotta say I'm a bit in two-minds about Birdie's skinsuit! It's an improvement from the one he had at Radioshack, true. But then again; everything is basically an improvement from that...
Still not too much for the smallish flag across the chest design... but at least the kit is completely red-white instead of somehow trying to incorporate the blue Astana colour.

At least they made the affort at Astana to make the jersey stand out from the rest of the team, that's got to be worth something compared to the complete failures RSNT made.

The red from the Danish flag would clash with the turqoise Astana colors, and it's against Kazakh pride to change that colour for a Danish jersey. Saxo bank has a much easier logo to work with, as it can match with almost any color.

My preferred nat champ kit style is Full Body Flag.
However, if, for some weird reason, a team chooses the Band Around Chest version here are some requirements:

1: White background! Then at least it'll actually be possible to see the flag colour, instead of having them drown in the colours of the kit.

2: The 'flag band' must take up at least 50% of the jersey. (But the more the better).

3: The band is to be designed in a way so that it's completely clear what flag it is.

Choose your team more wisely. Fuglsang knew he would get the same kind of NC jersey as Grivko or Bozic, so if he really cared he'd have chosen Saxo or OPQS.

I hardly think anyone is gonna choose their team according to Nat Champ Style. (And I wasn't really talking about Birdie's kit, just kits in general)
Just saying that there ought to be, if not direct rules, then at least some guidelines for Nat Champ Kit Design!

It depends on kit (and on flag). A German kit which was a full body kit would look silly, and though it could be classy, it's a blocky ostentatiousness rather unbecoming of the traditionally classy white-with-bands version. In fact, I'd say that any flag with vertical stripes (Belgium, France, Italy etc) is better off with the full jersey, while the horizontal stripes (Germany, Austria, Russia etc) work better with a white jersey with the national flag bands. Obviously there are exceptions (Estonia, for example, have colours that produce a very nice full tricolor jersey when used correctly, while a full jersey in the Portuguese colours looks terrible compared to the classy white jersey with the flag bands, like Cabreira's excellent Onda jersey). 'Cross' flags, whether centred (Switzerland, Georgia) or Scandinavian (the obvious culprits), need to be full jerseys in the flag design, otherwise they just don't look imposing enough as national jerseys.

The USA, I'm not sure what they need to do to create a classy jersey, as the flag is not the best in terms of trying to create something that is classy and not ostentatious but still shows off the national colours. I guess Hincapie came closest with his BMC one. Anything, ANYTHING, but Levi's 2007-8 one.

If this didn't make Tyler look like the champion of GB, it would be hideously awesome. :p
