The Giro is the GT i will forget the first. No real tension for the maglia rosa. The abandon of Purito from my point of view pretty much put a curtain over that Giro. Apart from the great stage to Val Martello, not really memorable stages. The victory of Nairo was pretty much certain. Great things were the resurgance of Aru and the fact a lot of young riders showed themself on the biggest stage.

The Tour had only one fantastic stage. The stage to Arenberg was ofcourse poetric in every sense of the word. All the other stages were quite boring. The biggest downsides were of course the abandon of Froome and Contador. Perhaps the DNF of Froome was not horrible at first sight, but the crash of Alberto really ruined everything for me. Before that crash, the current situation had everything to be a classic: Contador who was 2 minutes back on a really strong Nibali. The question remains: could he do it, or not?
After that moment, everything was decided. The competition was to weak to challenge Nibali at all. The fight for green was (before the start) already decided. Only the mountains jersey was a pretty good fight. But mostly because Purito was nowhere near decent form. But on the other hand, Majka really was the animator in de mountains, and i'll give him credits for that.
Also nice to see the French delivering big time, with Pinot who showed he will be a big rider for the GT's. And of course JCP great surprise, but at the same time: A 38 year old who gets the podium of the worlds biggest race, while in fact he's perhaps not in the top-10 GT riders at the moment, makes me wonder how good this Tour was.

Vuelta
As always nice fight till the end. Just like the last years: short stages, waiting games till the last climb, but the action for 10-15 minutes is really intense and nice. I don't think it's bad at all. Because a rider like Nibali who really dominates the mountains and attacks from 8 km, i don't find that much more attractive.
The fact that Contador and Froome were present, adds to the excitement of this Vuelta. In the end it was disappointed that Froome was not at 100%, or at least not being able to really challenge Contador. Valverde, Purito and Aru did play their part too, with the latter one confirm his incredible talent by winning two stages.

So the Vuelta wins for me.
