I have never seen that testimony per se before. He makes my blood boil..
Classless and lowball, but that has been my opinion for a long time...it's just always the way he conducts himself.

For anyone else that has not read the 2005 SCA deposition of Wonderboy in which he demonstrates his disdain for Betsy, and his general classlessness...here is the link.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/31833754/Lance-Armstrong-Testimony

It will take you a while to get through - but well worth the read...especially in light of recent occurences.

And Betsy, I'd clean up that empty pickle jar you've had laying around...I think it's going to come in handy holding Wonderboy's remaining ball soon....

If its not Armstrong, it's LeMond. If it's not LeMond its Betsy Andreau.

A national treasure? Really?
What sort of reaction was that supposed to solicit?

I don't know Mrs Andreau, but if she isn't embarassed by this sycophancy, she should be.

susan, many thanks for cleaning up betsy's thread.

I'm guessing that I missed a number of posts that were not kind to Betsy.
Maybe you are right Andy, she didn't really do anything worthy of being "placed on a pedestal". All she did was refuse to lie, even though it had certain negative ramifications for her. She wasn't on any sort of crusade for truth and justice (at least not until she was attacked), she was asked a question, under oath, and she answered honestly. So no pedestal for Betsy.
And yet if that was all she did, why is she being attacked with such vitriol by some people?
She refused to lie. Get over it.

Why would LA be so kind, generous and accepting of someone how is trying to bring him down? I'm sure you would be so nice and friendly with somebody who would tr to single-handedly discredit everything you have accomplished right? But somehow he takes offense to this and what he says are complete lies, and should just take it with a grain of salt and smile/laugh about it all as if it is nothing??

I think LA has shown great restraint with regards to those two.

Oh, she married a doper too...interesting. How can she look at him or even herself in the mirror knowing what he has done in the past?

funny, telling the truth in court is "Trying to bring him down"

Wonderboy's fans have no problem with perjury

Again, all she did was tell the truth under oath, and somewhat reluctantly at first. She didn't set out on a campaign to bring down anybody. She was subpoenaed and required to testify, and she refused to perjure herself. For that she was attacked and smeared.
Armstrong should have been angry with himself for not keeping his fat mouth shut.

No attacking from me you should note...

However, the thread title, which was decided before anybody posted a reply, is either trolling or just plain creepy.

Duly noted, I didn't say you were.
No, it is just a defensive response to the attacks on Betsy. Not creepy at all, just slightly overdone.

Betsy Andreu is the antithesis of Armstrong.

Anyone who thinks it's OK to malign Betsy (or, Frankie, for that matter) in pursuit of continued glory for Armstrong deserves a kick in the shins.

Having posted the title to the thread, let me explain my little bit of justifiable hyperbole. Betsy has not been afraid to stand up to the fraudster from the getgo. She has a sharp tongue and a very quick and sarcastic wit. I would love to see Armstrong on the stand with Betsy giving a color commentary. She and Fabio would be interesting to have to lunch together. I can see Fabio leaving the table looking at his arms to see if there's and flesh left. She's the best thing to come out of this whole mess--and she's sexy as well (standards of subjectivity apply).

Everyone who attacks my Lance shows their true colors, they just don't know the culture of profesional sports. Those who attack Lance know their own true colors, black.
To be truly objective the haters need to paint the whole sort black, sit in a black room and think about it, a world devoid of color.
Sometime in the future, the attackers(including Ms. Andreau) will realize what cycling is about. Frankie and Jonathon sure do.

Not only did she tell the truth, she told it while Armstrong was sitting there watching her deposition. This took place in a hotel room in Detroit, and Lance flew there solely for this purpose (i.e. to be there when Frankie and Betsy were deposed).

Nothing like trying to intimidate the witness.

As a result, of course, she told the truth to his face.

Dave.

You know, I feel for you flickie, it sucks to back a loser. By this point wouldn't it make more sense to sit back a little and leave the defense to the noobs like the zig? At least they have the cloak of ignorance to hide behind.

I don't know. There's a certain symmetry to flicker and Polish telling us "SSDD", day after day...

It was supposed to elicit (that was the word you were looking for BTW) this type of response. Pavlov rang the bell...

where is your seat in liestrong headquaters? The more vitriolic you get in here the closer you get to his office door, is that how it works?

Nope solicit was the word. Thanks though.

Having thought about it, Betsy is probably the closest thing you have to a national treasure, so fair enough.

No, it isn't.

As for nationalism, how did that British Empire thing turn out?

e·lic·it/iˈlisit/Verb
1. Evoke or draw out (a response or fact) from someone by actions or questions: "their moves elicit exclamations of approval".
2. Draw forth (something that is latent or potential) into existence: "war elicits all that is bad in us".

so·lic·it/səˈlisit/Verb
1. Ask for or try to obtain (something) from someone.
2. Ask (someone) for something: "he solicited the critic's opinion".

He was not asking for a response. He was making a statement meant to get a response. You can keep arguing, but you are wrong. Admit it and move on. It's a fine line, and you are on the wrong side of it.
