For some reason Gadret reminds me Stefan Schumaher...Timmy-loves-Rabo said:Gadret I suspect will be feeling his ride from the giro, which in a lot of ways was his break out ride. I mean 4th in a very difficult giro, if that isn't breakout, what is?

Hugo Koblet said:If "break out rider" means a rider who wasn't really known before, but will be quite well known by the average cycling watcher after this years Tour, then I'd nominate a few guys already mentioned:
Intxausti,

It's really a shame (well, Tondo's accident obviously was much more tragic but I don't know how else to put it) that Intxausti had to witness the tragic event. It will most certainly affect him for a long time to come, and for that reason I don't think we'll see the Intxausti we could have. Hopefully he'll get over the shock at some point and continue his progess.

Also wondering what this Busche-kid can do.
I don't think Uran will impress. Not sure why, but I feel like he'll never match the initial expectations I had of him when I first noticed him.
Thomas De Gendt will be great for some breakaway action. He really is an awesome rider.

Top-20 this year. Top-10 in 2012.
Yeah, but that wasn't very impressive. He didn't contend it at any time, same with everyone else in that group. His Lombardy podium back in the day was much more impressive and remains his highlight at the big classics.El Pistolero said:Didn't Uran came fourth or fifth at LBL this year?

That's the thing, we're talking about a guy who podiumed Lombardy at 21, so it's about time he's up there at the same level as the Schlecks.El Pistolero said:You can't expect him to be at the same level of the Schlecks and Phil though.
But ok, I don't really know how he got that place as they never showed the chasing group.
