That's the thing, we're talking about a guy who podiumed Lombardy at 21, so it's about time he's up there at the same level as the Schlecks. :(

Ryo will probably know some excuse as to why he wasn't with the Schleck group :p But at least he's no Popovych. Yet.

I think 2010 Kronplatz tt showed he still has it.

The rest of the Giro was spent pacing Arroyo, but this was the stage where he was allowed to do his thing and he came 7th. Ok he lost 36 seconds to Nibali 26 to Basso but it is one of the toughest climbs in the world, he was only 23 and didnt have much to fight for but still was up there.

The danger is that he loses 20 minutes on one of the earlier stages like at that Giro.

i honestly hope horner fails miserably. i dislike people who don't know when they are past their prime and refuse to give their place as leaders to younger riders. this is more levi's case than horners atm. but tbh seeing a 40 year old on the podium of a GT would prove that many things are still wrong in our sport

Not going to say Horner is completely clinic free, but one point to remember how late in his career he made it over to Europe. How many GTs has he ridden? Less than some 30 year olds I think.

could have been phinney if he wasnt sick all season. watch out for morabito, not saying he will be a breakthrough.

nah, not phinney. Morabito is a guy who could breakthrough. He's had some decent results in some big races.

Oh, yeah, "he's not Popovych yet", really reassuring. Hell, I'm not Popovych yet either!

Yeah but the problem is he still has it in exactly the same quantities as in 2007-2008.

In that case you wouldn't have liked the 1976 Tour. But then that didn't prove anything.

(PS Another vote for Uran - top ten)

I keep predicting Ciolek to win something big but it never wins. He needs someone to mentor him. There was massive hype around Ciolek and he was a massive talent yet it proves that talent does not equal world class professional.

Maybe he's missing the juice that HTC gives to its riders.

Perhaps he can learn soon enough from the Grandmaster him self

Although I don't think you'd like to see Uran in a domestique role :D
