Hard to beat that type of sprint finish by De Lie today - Thought the final was on the limit of his capabilities but he produced a dynamite finish - Now he can ride freely in Sunday's more challenging parcours.
I think that most of the time but he's better on these short uphill efforts than we would give him with his torso. He also recovers really fast after for a sprint. What a gem.

Hopefully in the Tour next year.
 
Chapeau De Lie - congrats on first WT win & probably not the last. (Lotto glad for 500 UCI points no doubt)
It seems too he followed Ma Vingegaard's advice on preparation (no back flips in the pool!) -
"I wanted to save my energy - I've watched a lot of the older editions and I knew that you had to wait for a long, long time. I had two teammates but I wanted to try and get the speed from behind," De Lie said.
